    Front suspension rebuild?

Twenty years and I will be 91 and I doubt I'll be going under the car then. If I did anything it would be to make it feel similar to the CHP version in 1973 which we all know was rubber. Bigger sway bars are not to be found in junkyards around here. So for me it is for driving on the freeway...

    Front suspension rebuild?

I don't do parallel parking anywhere. If I did that would mean someone possible in front of me and behind me trying their hand at it with my car right there. Oh, no, and I spent 10 years in San Francisco with two them them parallel parking everyday till I had a garage. I've seen how others do it...

    Front suspension rebuild?

I saw him mentioned when diving into the archives for information. The actual work will be done early next year after the Parklane engine is finished. Both will never get their suspensions rebuilt again by me as I will be around 88-90 then but you never know.

    Front suspension rebuild?

Well I did replace the front springs in my F-100 and found that the old springs were both the same size when, in reality, the springs are slightly different in height from the factory. As to the Ford vs Chrysler when trying to put it into words I would say the Ford drives as though it is a...

    Front suspension rebuild?

So the consensus is: 1. Upgrading the power steering box is Ok. 2. Poly bushings on the sway bar are fine which I expect since all my cars have poly there. 3. Tubular upper control arms not needed. 4. Upper control arm bushings in poly are Ok? 5. Strut rod bushings in rubber. Idler arm in...

    Front suspension rebuild?

I spent several hours looking over the different parts and suppliers to rebuild my original front suspension and have a question. I already decided to get the Firm Feel Stage 1 power steering box. Also decided on their upper control arms so I have more control over alignment. After that there is...

Will an electric impact wrench give satisfactory results vs air wrench?

I bought this three weeks ago after trying to remove the flywheel off the back of my 410 with a corded impact. Maybe around 125 lbs. at most and it took awhile to start moving those nuts...

    New tire drive

Well the manual lists several sizes depending on rim. The J78-15 is equivalent to a 225/75-15 and I seriously doubted my car came with that size for one. The G78 is equivalent to 215/75. Two, I had 235/75 on before the new tires and I didn't like the way the side wall bulged out over the rim as...

    New tire drive

I had new tires put on about two months ago but never got to try them out on a longer highway drive. Short hops around town told me nothing unusual. With me testing out suspension changes to the Park Lane that had my attention and use all of June. The new tires are the Kinergy ST WSW in...

    Front sway bar

I did a search on past posts looking for something on front sway bars but saw lots of rear bars or cars 1968 and earlier. I just removed the 5/8" front sway bar on my Park Lane and installed a 1 1/8" bar which has made quite a difference in the car leaning over during turns. So I wonder about...

    Let's see your original tires

Speaking of original tires I only have one and it still sits in the trunk of my Cougar where it has been since the car was put into service back on April 20, 1968. Why, because it is the only car I have had it's entire life and not second hand where previous owners dispose of previous tires.

    Let's see your original tires

I have now installed three sets of Kinergy ST onto my cars. The Dodge, the Park Lane and just yesterday the F100 all in WSW. Tires from Tire Rack in just two days. Everyone local said no such thing as Kinergy ST in their computer system. Told them to look at Tire Rack as it is there and I want...

I received a set of (Tire Rack) Kinergy ST 215/75x15 WSW tires for the Polara last week and just had them installed by a small place a 13 minute walk from me. then drove home and cleaned up the bluing on the whitewall, checked cold pressure which I set at 34 psi and went for a drive. My main...

Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

Which is exactly why I look at them, as it is common sense, otherwise why even bother with WSW tires and pay more for them than BSW? We'll see if asked this Sunday as Optimo H724 in WSW 235/75-15 have been ordered and paid for.

That is universal as I was asked the same thing when I put new tires on my Mustang and Park Lane early last year. I just gave them a look and asked what do you think?

Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

That is exactly what I was going to do until the local Walmart listed having the H724 available. We'll see come tomorrow when I place n order online for Wednesday delivery. So if true the Polara will get new tires that day.

Get your Hankook Optimo H724 WW tires while you can!

Interestingly my America's Tire/Discount Tire tells me the H724 is out and when they look for the Kinergy ST they find no such tire at all. I am now due for new tires on the Polara and F100. I can get away with BW on the F100 but not the Polara.
