1966 Imperial Crown convertible Ignition power issue

I just want to chime in and say I enjoyed reading your story and trivia about this gentleman - both here and on the IML. Specially because you phrased it in an interesting and positive way. Unfortunately I am not very good at running into characters like this. One of my friends however... they...

How many '64 - '66 Imperial ragtops are left?

I think that one listed in Germany might be in Denmark now. If it is around 3years ago. (?) I wouldn't be surprised if there is a few in Sweden. There is a guy with a light green '65 convertible posting regularly in the primarily Swedish "imperialclub" facebook group.

    My 1969 Imperial LeBaron

Welcome from your neighboring country :) . Such a nice original '69. A few weeks ago I helped the local mopar nut fill the A/C in his '69 Imperial 2 door. 1000g R134a cooled well in his car (roughly 70% of the original charge of R12). Just for reference. Imperials are not well known in Denmark...

    Imperial option delete cars

Sligtly off topic, but I found it odd, that my imperial has a good amount of options such as tilt column, A/C and radio with rear reverberator, but they did not order a passengers side mirror.

Why is my 64 Imperial so difficult?

I don't know it it makes you feel any better, but imagine having the same car (almost - a '66), but in Denmark. Not a chance of locating any of the Imperial specific parts here. Without the Internet - it would have been impossible!

    Weight blocks in'66 Imperial Convertible

Thanks a lot to everybody who replied! The thought of adding more weight to an Imperial seems crazy. I have never seen a car/frame so heavily built and the steel used are of extremely tough quality (I spent 2 hours to correct a bent flange on a body-mount). But I can see a convertible having...

    Weight blocks in'66 Imperial Convertible

Asking for a fellow Imperial owner, who has a '66 convertible. In each side in the very rear of the car, it has what appears to be a cast iron weight or block. They are attached to the outer bumper bracket and the floor. Can anyone explain what the purpose of these is? (I am guessing it is...

    Article about imperials

Actually, the remote truck lock release on a '66 is an electric solenoid. Mine has it and it still works. However it requires very precise adjustment/shimming of the height of the latch. If the the trunk lid is pulled too hard against the rubber seal it is not strong enough to pull the lock...

    Tag decoding a ´66

Yes - agreed and specially 66-68 seems not to be covered by any online decoders. Or maybe I just haven't found the right one.

    Tag decoding a ´66

Thanks! It all appears to be correct (original rear seats are still there - black leather. According to a brochure that came with the car: Whale oil treated!) The radio is AM with an automatic antenna. Will be interesting to know the rest, when that is possible.

    Tag decoding a ´66

Would anyone be so kind and help decode this tag? The FSM helps decode the VIN plate - but not the tag. It is a 1966 crown coupe, delivered in Dec.´65 from the "west coast promo office" in Calif. I know it has (or had): A/C, tilt-o-scope steering column, vinyl roof.

    My new ‘64 Crown Coupe

Nice car. I have almost it's twin in terms of the sun burned color and cut off black vinyl roof. Mine is a '66 though. It was also sold new in the Los Angeles area to a Hollywood producer. I can probably learn a lot by following your build. Already I learned the device in the trunck is a...
