Looking for some clarity on 1965 engine mounts

Maybe it's just me - but has anyone written / posted on FCBO about having a 413 in a '65 Monaco / Polara? Maybe this FB guy thought he had a poly when in fact he had a 413? Everything I'm readying says that his poly mount brackets should fit an LA 318.

Looking for some clarity on 1965 engine mounts

There's a guy in one of the FB groups (either a c-body group or a monaco/polara group) that has a 1965 (either monaco, polara or chrysler) that had a poly 318. He's taken the poly out and trying to install an LA, and I guess it's to be expected that no regular LA motor mounts are going to...

1973 Newport will not start, but sounds like it wants to! why?

Spray starter fluid into the carb. Always have that stuff on hand when you are trying to start an engine that you know nothing about or you expect a hard start. You'll know very quickly if your ignition system is working, you have installed the distributor correctly, have the plugs wired...

WHAT is the BEST "ball joint separator" to use on the LCA-lower ball joint stud?

For me it's the pitman arm (removal from steering gear) that is the worst. These other joints are normally pretty easy. If supporting the LCA and whacking the ball joint shaft with a 5 lb hammer isin't an option, then wrench down your tool and take out a camping or plumbing torch and heat the...

If the engine/trans is out, then you practically don't need anything to support the stub when you roll it out. If you have a mechanics creeper or furnature or moving dolly that's all you're going to need. But you need to park the car somewhere where it will sit while you have the stub out...

I recall that the LCA's had to be moved backwards out of the stub a little to allow the strut rods to be taken out. This requires that the torsion bars also need to be out of the way. There wasn't enough play in the LCA even when it's fully dropped for the strut rods to be taken out. When...

I built this 3-wheel contraption to do this. The engine and trans was still mounted to the stub frame when it was rolled out. But I also had removed the fenders and radiator support so there was nothing in the way. I did not have the car lifted very high, just enough to take the front...

WANTED Looking for any Chrysler 69-73 driver side brake caliper. Preferably unseized, but price negotiable if seized.

Ah yes. 2.75 inches for the B-body caliper: Tell me - what year did MoPar go to having a separate rotor? (separate from the hub)

    Am I being ripped off???

There are some rotors that are branded as "QuietCast". Maybe higher carbon steel content. Also the placement of shims between the caliper and pad arms and the brake knuckle stop. I'm not necessarily talking about C-body rotors - for me it's the rotors on my 300m's. The ONLY concern I have...

WANTED Looking for any Chrysler 69-73 driver side brake caliper. Preferably unseized, but price negotiable if seized.

What's the key measurement? Distance between slide/guide pins? Piston diameter?

    Am I being ripped off???

The one thing I'm never sure about when it comes to "cheap" rotors is - are they the cause of brake squeel? The metal itself? I've heard of something in the metalurgy that might separate quite vs noisy rotors but to me it's a crap shoot if that consistently shows up in the price.

I've been dismantling my '73 Satellite, I took the calipers off, I wonder if they'll be similar to what the OP is looking for. I'll take a pic.

67 Fury upper control arm camber bolts not going in easily through new bushings

I measured the inside diameter of an old and a new (ie never used, unknown how old) upper control arm bushing: old - 12.86 - 12.90 mm new - 12.84 (very little variation) I have a pair of old/used bolts. I clean (buffed) one of them on a wire wheel. Outer diameter: old bolt - buffed - 12.55...

    Brake pedal return spring?

My '67 is 4 wheel drum power brakes, always has been. Maybe the adjustment rod behind (or in) the booster is out of adjustment (too short?). It just seemed easier to help the pedal come back up with a bungy cord. I think some times the brake lights were sticking on. But I find it interesting...

    Brake pedal return spring?

I've been getting my '67 Monaco back into shape over the past 2 years so maybe there's something in the brake system that I still need to tweak (although it has new master cylinder) - but I do have a short bungy cord to pull the brake pedal back up all the way. I don't think it pulls it much vs...

New U-Haul trailer finally in production

This was a comment from the above story: "The trick with U-Haul is their extremely conservative opinions of the capacity of your tow vehicle. Your OEM and owners manual may say your truck can haul 9999 pounds, but their lawyers may not let you."

67 Fury upper control arm camber bolts not going in easily through new bushings

I think I have a new bushing somewhere, and old ones, and a few old bolts, I'll measure them and report back.
