    Steering wheels interchange 69/71?

Yes the wheel cover would be an option. Back in the day we had a leather wrap with straps that made it look cool, but I've not see them for sale recently. I have a '70 wheel that has a few small cracks and I will repair with epoxy and paint, but time will tell if it will lasts.

    Phantom C bodies

I thought this "factory" Hemi Hurst convertible story was debunked long ago on this site. Let's see the build sheet or fender tag. Although I think McCloud is the previous owner of the real and only Hurst convertible, I'm raising the BS flag on this article, but as a Phantom C and in the...

    Phantom C bodies

Why do all the dream C bodies have to be high performance Hemi 4 speeds? The Hemi is kind of useless in these cars for long distance cruising, and I will never understand why you all want to "work" at driving a luxury vehicle with a manual transmission. My choice is a Hurst with a convertible...

    Steering wheels interchange 69/71?

Perhaps a photo essay will help on the differences. All non-tilt column shafts have the same spline size, 1969 to 1973, so no problem fitting there. As for the steering wheel base, ‘69 - ‘70 are close, ’69 is smaller by 1/2 an inch 69 on the left, 70 on the right 1970 1969 69 column...

WANTED 69-70 New Yorker Side Mirror

Correct, but I’ve found that since not many know the actual part number, they list the casting number in for-sale ads, I’ve found a few listed with that number.

WANTED 69-70 New Yorker Side Mirror

No problem, glad to help. What part of Jersey are you in? For more reference here is the dealer installed accessory base: and here is the factory installed base:

WANTED 69-70 New Yorker Side Mirror

Nice pic, :poke: Here‘s the one with the base numbers. I found that these are elusive and there are at least two different bases. There is one that was factory installed with the two posts through the door and the other is a dealer installed accessory with the screw mount from the outside.

    Freight shipping

I've used Fastenal several times. $385 sounds about right for the size and weight you describe, call them for a quote. They will only deliver between stores that have a fork lift, your seller would have to drop it off at their location. https://www.fastenal.com/en/22/blue-lane-freight

A Competitve Make of Interest in the Slab Side years

Love these Fleetoods, my mom always drove a newer one every 3 years thanks to a cousin in the leasing business. Of course the Coupe de Ville 'vert is always nice. Although the ‘73 El Dorado is out of the scope of the thread, I think it continued to carry the styling from the earlier...

Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

There have been many times during this process where I thought about abandoning the build and finding one done or at least in driver condition. The closest I came was seeing the EB7 blue, white interior 'vert in Maryland last year, but fortunately for my wife and my sanity @ayilar scooped it up...

Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

Thank you! I didn't know much when I started, but with FCBO, the FSM and the internet, you can do just about anything with these cars!

@Donny, how about some pics of the completed 300? I know, hasn’t been here in a while, but he is on FCBO. Any members there that can ask him to post? @tallhair?

    Floor Pans

Buy some 18 g sheet and a cheep bead roller and make them yourself. I can't imagine the time you'd spend just cutting and flattening out 16 g barrels, that's a little overkill for floors. If you don't want to spend money on a bead roller, there is a decent hack that uses round steel stock...

    Fuselage fender removal

You cannot remove the fender without removing the hood unless you want damage to other parts and possibly the windshield. If there is water coming in from the cowel, it’s likely not just clogged, and you will have to remove all those parts anyway. Before you do any of that check the heater core...

Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

Yes, I imagine they were line mates. Yours went to Maryland, and I believe mine started out in Florida, but I will never know for sure. As for Carlisle, it’s looking like 2023 for this beast. I’m looking at two knee replacement in the first half of the year, so I’ll be sidelined until the...
