How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

Yea - I was trying to figure out if what I was seeing was caused by mis-alignment, or if there is really something wrong with the steering gear. I really changed too many things at once, but it couldn't be helped. There is a lot of black magic happening in that steering gear. I think...

How to adjust caster (if indeed you can with stock parts?)

Ok, this is a huge update. And preliminary results came in yesterday. To re-cap: Late 2023 or early 2024: obtained a used stub frame for my '67 Monaco. It came with everything still attached except trans mount and spindles. Even came with steering gear. First quarter 2024: dismantled the...

ballast resistor do you need it??

Do you have a good volt/ohm meter? I'm curious what the primary winding resistance is of your coil.

ballast resistor do you need it??

Does the sniper fuel injection system not also come with an ignition module? There are coils that have internal resistors. And I guess it is common that aftermarket coils will come with an external ballast resistor if they need it. Some say that the ballast resistor is contained in harness...

Basic noob questions on resealing oil pan

The filter you are showing (MOBIL 1 M1-204A) looks like a stubby filter. Don't use a stubby filter. Use a regular length (ie - long length) filter. I tend to call them "Fram PH8A" to describe the size of the filter, because there doesn't seem to be an industry spec for filter size (why not?)...

NOT MINE 1967 Dodge Monaco 500 Convertible

Fender tag: What's the difference between tire code 5 53 (my car) and 5 54 (this car) ? This car has no radio? This car's sequence number 05035, mine is 05042 (3 month difference in date code). Would you ever find a Monaco 500 / convertible in the US with a 318?

Midwest Mopars in the Park, May 30th - June 1st 2025, Farmington Minnesota.

The guy with the blue slab Plymouth wagon that was parked in the barn posted some pics on FB. What was the distinction between the cars parked inside vs outside? Was there any year cut-off (as in, all pre-1980 or some such)? Were there any 300m's ?

Review of the New 1970-73 C-Body Reproduction Washer Bottles

Put them on a scale, see if they have comparable weights. Why were the bottles moved from their more protected position on the slab cars to this position in front of the battery? Out of curiosity, what is the history behind the repop of the slab bottles? Same outfit make them?

Has it been a colder than normal spring where you are?

Where I am, in South-western Ontario, it's been 10 - 15 degrees F colder than normal for daytime high, almost the same for the daytime low. High today is going to be 61, low 39. Next 3 days high is (FINALLY) going to be 75 - 81 but then dropping back down. Detroit has also probably been...

Has anyone had Road Force Balancing done (either to fix a problem, or because it's sort-of standard now) ?

Well, first off I'm looking at mounting and balancing. I'm not just rolling in a mounted tire and asking for it to be balanced. Add $5 for a new valve stem and core. Next, if you do a search for "balancing Magnum rims" you'll see that you need an adapter flange with studs to balance these...

NOT MINE 1968 Dodge Monaco 2 dr HT (project or for parts) Edmonton Alberta $1800 CAD / $1300 USD

Yea it looks like the dash has been cannibalized. Steering wheel center cap is chromed (like '67) but it went padded durring later production? I thought the '68 tail lights had more horizontal slats, not all open like this one has. ?

Has anyone had Road Force Balancing done (either to fix a problem, or because it's sort-of standard now) ?

Should they be balanced with the center cone on or off the wheel? If I have the cones bolted to the wheel and I tell them not to take the cones off then they'll have to mount the rims using the lug holes.

NOT MINE 1968 Dodge Monaco 2 dr HT (project or for parts) Edmonton Alberta $1800 CAD / $1300 USD

The bottom of my air cleaner has a port for a small tube. It must have been connected to that manifold heater tube. I had the poly 318 (they had that in Canada in '67) but I see they still had that for the first year in Canada for the LA (1968). But that's got to be a lame way to make a...

Has anyone had Road Force Balancing done (either to fix a problem, or because it's sort-of standard now) ?

I didn't know about this until just a few days ago. I watched a couple of YT videos, and this method does make sense that it can solve vibration problems that standard balancing doesn't fix. I thought that there had been posts here in the past few months of people trying to solve drive-train...

For what it's worth... Your basic 318 in a Canadian Monaco. What is this coming out of the passenger-side exhaust manifold? Fender tag: Anyone know what Y7 is? Also, what's the difference between tire code 5 53 (my '67 Monaco) and 5 50 (this '68 Monaco) ?
