My 1 ton van, B series vans, D and W series Pick-ups, use the same pads and hardware. Look for videos for them also.
And Craig @mobileparts is The Man for this stuff.
I have also done the opposite. I swapped a 904 into where a 727 was in my '68 318 Custom Suburban 50 years ago. I have a parts catalog collection. I forget all the cars that used the same length drive shaft. I haunted junkyards for a month. I finally went to a dismantling yard that had racks of...
I think truck linkage is different. I seem to remember trying to put a pick-up big block 727 into my '77 400 Newport and the linkage was different I think.
@FFGREG I am sorry to take so long. I found my early Fifties accessories catalogs. Actually 1949 to the first 1955 issue, I am guessing, October 1st 1954. They have everything from a 6/110 volt electric razor and electric locking gas cap to Mopar lighter fluid and a 55 gallon drum of antifreeze...
@FFGREG @Big_John @58Belvedere @UGW Hi everybody. I need to apologize. I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at the listing on the AACA site with the part number in the manual which is 1779144! The 1779144 number is what's listed for the 1958 cars. I am guessing that yes by the part number...
When I worked at the dealer in 1969 the PA state police had Plymouths and Fords. When a trooper brought a Plymouth in for service he told me that at 85,000 miles a C-6 had to be rebuilt where a TF kept on going!
@Rusty Muffler You never know how long the ATF has been there or what quality the PO used. Fifty years ago I used a supermarket brand recycled ATF and had an issue with the trans. I took the car to a well regarded shop and when he drained the oil he knew right away it was garbage and gave me a...
@Gregg Benedict @mobileparts I checked my parts manual and it lists the part #1770040. I do not have access to any of my others right now but it says '57-'58 Chrysler and Imperial and some Dodges. A bunch of guys on fleebay have them.
In 1972 when my father wrecked our '68 Suburban I did some research and found a '68 New Yorker stub frame and had heavy duty torsion bars installed. I was going to swap in a 440 in place of the 318 but that never happened. Problem was that the car rode like it was under full acceleration all the...
Probably built after January 1st because of the 4 headlights. I wonder where the picture was taken? In 1969 one of the sandwich shop owners in Northeast Philadelphia had a beautiful '57 white DeSoto convertible.
Forty or so very odd years ago, at the Dunkirk, NY show somebody had an Airflow Imperial limo/8 passenger sedan for sale.
BTW, the parade car in the film "The Dictator" was an Imperial. I often wonder if it has survived.
