Yesterday a local council not far from where I live, proposed an 85% increase in rates for business and home owners within its borders. Not surprisingly, people were shocked and angry. The Council has a record of poor management for many years, and it seems that now they want other people to fix...

Those fires were horrific.. I was astounded by the loss of so many homes, and the personal effects within. We get out of control fires down under, during summer too, however the fact that LA and Australia's eastern seaboard are very different in the density of housing/...

Thanks for the quick and very informative reply The_Eagles_Nest. Interchangeable pieces has its benefits, and makes changes to the various cars easier, like you suggest. I saw another thread referring to pot metal, and I will look into that alloy. Do you know if pot metal is an alloy containing...

Hi All, I'm still repairing/restoring/cleaning 54 years of wear/tear and general lack of love on my 1971 New Yorker 2 door, and recently removed the rear bumper and valance to address the non working lights and build up of gunk. Looking into the trunk, I noticed that there were 4 "nuts" that...

Courtesy light gremlins lead to hazard/stop fuse blowout.

Hi Guys, It has been a few months since posting here, as I have been doing a lot of work on my 71 New Yorker, especially rust repairs, and engine bay wiring work. The 72 Fury gran sedan is almost road registrable, bar a non connected speedocable and temp sensor fix. However, recently the lights...

NOT MINE 1969 Polara CHP for sale on eBay ($49k OBO)

I've seen that word " built" in reference to engines and Carbys many times now and am wondering, what on earth are they talking about? Of course those things are built. My assumption is it's slang for a term used in the 1990's, " worked", simply meaning lots of money, time and energy expended in...

    And its name is????

Hi Guys and Girls, I am about to remove the front bumper, valance and headlamps from my 72 Fury Gran Sedan, due to the usual issues arising from 50 odd years of grime and other debris building up in the region. Could somebody advise of the name or part number of the black piece of thick and...

Is this normal on my 72 Fury rear taillight lens?

The title is self explanatory. I have what looks like black paint near the backup section of my Fury light lens. See photos I took. I don’t think it’s meant to be there. I guess checking the other lens first would have been an idea too. If it’s abnormal what do others recommend to clean light...

(Another) 383 2 bbl to 4 bbl conversion thread, anyone got a parts list?

I love your work. The AVS and intake look really nice, and your skills with the fuel lines and throttle linkages are admirable. You sound really happy with the end result, and I would be too. Enjoy your car, which won’t be difficult!!

NOT MINE 1962 Imperial Coupe on BaT - No Reserve!

Ok thanks mate.I agree about taking it off for the photo shoot. It would also make the pic a lot more appealing.Scrubbed out shots are mentally dumbing down peoples opinion of the vehicle, on a subconscious level I believe.

Hi edbods Like yours, I’m staying stock too- a LOT better if the day ever comes to sell. Or if there’s kids that are interested they’ll be mighty glad it’s stock so they can appreciate it also. I would love to put on the 2.5 inch exhaust, and other bits, but it gets back to the earlier...

Thanks for the thought edbods. Not too many c bodies down under. We need all the help we can get! I was keen for the 4 bbl/ Al / open up exhaust flow thing, but I’ve decided against it now. I’ve always thought everyone ought to do what makes them happy when it comes to car upgrades and changes...

DO NOT USE TRICO CLASSIC WIPER BLADES

Thanks for the information, but I was wondering if anyone knew what the small clips that are on the blade arms were for? There is one clip on each end of each wiper, but I don’t see that these clips do a great deal..
