Nice car !
Lewiston makes sense . Stanley was never big enough for a dealership . Salmon would have been the nearest Chrysler dealership . Jerry Blake was the rep bake in those days .
He told me he forced a Superbird 6 pak on the Salmon dealership in 1970 lol.
Jerry went on to be the head of...
Welcome from Boise ! Nice looking Crown . Lets see more pics!
In case you didn’t know one of the best Mopar engine builders in the country is right there in Challis. Jim Laroy and his son have competed in several Engine Masters competitions.
Yes , I.understood what you were saying. I didnt occure to me that there was a module involved in the system until then .
I wonder if removing the module effected other things like dash lights or cornering lights ? None of which work now . I bought an NOS light switch with sentinel...
Looks to be it . Wiring must be unique to 74/75 Imperial. I am not finding any mention of it in my 76 Chrysler FSM . My car has the Sentinel system … where is the male connector ???
Hmmm. Will have to look once I have the cluster out . Pretty big terminal to hide .
I found this massive connector floating under dash pad when I was changing cluster bulbs. I can’t find it in my 76 FSM . My car is a 75 but most of the wiring should be similar.
There are some 16ga hot wires and grounds . Maybe for trailer towing ? Seems to be a lot of wires for that…
None of...
518/46rh is as modern as you would need to go due to the tremendous torque our big blocks put out . 6/7/8… speed tranies are used to keep a lower torque engine in a narrow powerband continuously.
Or for towing purposes….
My old Mopars are my daily drivers . I spent the last 30 years selling new high end cars and I guess I just take them for granted now . Besides I only have room for so many cars and 1 of those spots has to be for Melissas newer Acura .
Not to mention that instead of a new car payment I choose...
Well
it might be for sale when I’m done. I have too many cars and one of them will have to go . Although I am enjoying this more than my other cars at the moment . I built a 500hp W2 headed stroker for my Dart thinking I wanted a stock looking street machine but now I kinda like the quiet...
Heat and cold dont bother me much to a point . I grew up in MN dealing with -30 and now in Idaho where summers can hit 105 . But I just don’t get living in Pheonix !
Since my post at 7:00 am ( its now 7:42) I drove to work in my Imperial and a woman in a Volvo pulled up beside me giving enthusiastic thumbs up .
Need I say more ?
Luxury cars are trending upwards . Even the Malaise era .
I own a 68 Barracuda , 69 340 4sp Dart Swinger and a 75 Crown Coupe . That Imperial draws the neighbors like flys !
And consider you can spend 20k on a 100k+ mile 10 year old car now so 30k for a nice classic is resonable .
Seems fair for a nicely done car . Try to find another similarly equipped then try to restore it properly for lees than that . Not even accounting for the 100s of hours of your labor it will be difficult.
No power locks … one of the only options not on this car .
The dome light does work however so it may not be the light switch . I have not really delved into diagnosis yet as I have been busy painting and reassembling the trim and lights .
All the bling back on and newly upholstered seats back in . Only needed 2 panels which I got NOS from SMS. Original shag carpet still in mint condition . Car still smells like 1975 Chrysler .
