    Where is this connector

Having several 68 Chryslers and still have one for the past 20 years, that plug is for the HOT and COLD idiot lights. Body is ground and 1 wire per bulb. Yes your PLymouth or Dodge C body would have a 1 wire plug with an actual temp guage. The temp sending units are still out there. Hope this...

75 Imperial Interm. Crank no start

Yes. Each bowl has a tiny O ring. If pinched shrunk or broken it will empty the bowls. This affects the floats and ditto gas runs into the intake. Not to mention todays corn swill fuel evaporates quickly. Even the best running carb and/ or engine will do a long crank after a week sitting and...

Not a "hesitation" but more of a "stumble"...

Check the advance weights to see if they move free. If stuck, it can cause a stumble upon accelerating. Check all screws and nuts holding down the carb and carb body. A vacuum leak can cause a stumble. Loose wires at ignition coil can cause a stumble.

    Dashboard Woes

Late to this party but as mentioned get a good used factory harness, go through it and repair as needed. This is where the FSM wiring diagrams come in handy From my experience, using a multi meter I test continuity on each and every circuit. If you have to open up the harness to do any repairs...

Last electrical question for today( circuit diagrams sending me cross eyed !)

Chrysler was known to install the same harness in the line with or without certain options to keep costs down. It may be for cruise control brake pedal cancel switch?? 2 cars, one with cruise control and the other without got the same basic harness. The car with cruise, its optional separate...

    Stuck window woes

I personally prefer removing the regulator and motor out from the door as 1 piece. The regulator is under a LOT of tension from the spring. So I clamp it down and replace the motor. I get to keep all 8 fingers and 2 thumbs.

    Ammeter bypass

In my opinion, doing the underhood bypass is good enough. Easy and simple without having to drop the steering column and pull the instrument cluster. If anything, I would run an extra feed wire straight through the firewall bypassing the bulkhead connector. The bulkhead connector is knoen to...

Least expensive way to bright headlights?

I have the old school Hoppy headlight alignment kit... I did @sixpkrt award winning NYer, and did all my C's at home. Works great and makes a huge difference! Especially when the cars were torn apart during a resto and the headlights are out of whack.

    Higher output alternator

90 amp roundback Powermaster here and did the underhood ammeter bypass with 10 guage wiring and 14 guage fusible link. Looks stock but can handle a big load. The alternator is dual field so I grounded the extra to the casing itself. ( purple wire showing) Been in service since 2018 no issues...

    Headlight power source with relays.

Yes the LED headlights do have lower draw, and better color. But.... My experience LED headlamps is they have a shorter throw of light versus good quality halogens. Also the older cars headlight buckets do not have the space and/ or room behind them as some LED headlamps have heat sinks...

65' Polara instrument voltage reg query

You can bypass the internal limiter in the fuel guage and install an electronic limiter from RTE. I use their limiters excluseively and are very reliable. Direct from RTE: RTE Gauge Faq - rte

69 Chrysler 300: Low beam & parking lights/head light doors not working

Start with the simple stuff.... Pull keft kick panel abd carpet to check the foot dimmer switch. Check for any melted wires. With a multi meter with headlight switch on, check dimmer for power going in and out. Replace dimmer switch if needed. The doors run on the same feed as the headlight...

    68 Chrysler Newport

Is this without engine running? Or just at idle? Check output of alternator and load test the battery. I had an alternator put out 12.5 volts but at 2000rpm it was doing 4 outvof 45 amps of charge. As long as I ran the car with nothing on, it charges. But at 4AMPS even at 12.5 volts when running...

    Fender top blinker bulb replacement

Check to make sure the blinker has good ground, check for power before condeming the bulb. Sometimes a little cleaning of contacts and the fender goes a long way Pull the bulb and check for continuity with a multi meter. Otherwise top up the blinker fluid. Lol !

Did you re- attach the ground wire at the column? It can be easily overlooked and can cause symptoms you are experiencing. Simple stuff first.

Please help me ID this wire

Everything else goes through the fuse box. Some convertibles piggy back on the ammeter to power the top.

Please help me ID this wire

That red wire spliced to ammeter wire is behind the left kick panel and is used for powering any optional accessories and circuit breakers like power seats, windows, locks, and center console feed when equipped. My 68 Newport has no power options but the wire is still there. On my loaded 67...
