Need help installing a Classic Industries front sway bar on a 66 Fury

Yup, that confirms it. And confirms my guess that the holes were there for the mounting of the splash guard. Thanks again!

Need help installing a Classic Industries front sway bar on a 66 Fury

Yeah, right! FCBO featured in AI! Cool. This was my first time using ChatGPT too. More pictures attached. I'm definitely going to need to locate or fabricate that mount and weld them in. The 3 holes are a curiousity though. There are more along the frame, so I wonder if they might be...

Need help installing a Classic Industries front sway bar on a 66 Fury

Thanks for the follow up, my convertible did not come with sway bars originally. But it will have one eventually. I'll figure it out, but will need to have some mounting brackets fabricated and welded to the frame. "Easy mounting" said Classic Industries. Yeah, right.

Need help installing a Classic Industries front sway bar on a 66 Fury

Thanks Big John. No, my car originally did not have a front or rear sway bar. The diagram helps yet I'm still a bit confused. I asked Chat GPT for her thoughts and this is what she said: Install front sway bar I believe that I will need to have some tabs welded onto the frame to support the...

Thanks for the reply and education. Yest my car does have AC but I was figuring that I could modify one of my existing panels and graft that control area to the delete panel with some careful dremmel trimming and JB weld.

I found one on ebay but the seller couldn't find it in their garage or warehouse. Who does that? Attached is what I'm shopping for and the last picture is what I have if anybody needs it or willing to trade. In addition I need a window guide for the driver side rear window. The guide piece...

    66 fury wagon windshield

I need a windshield for my 66 Fury convertible. From the forum here, it seems that it's different from the wagon. Are they available after market or do I need to hit up a salvage yard? What about the gasket?

    66 daily driver

318 poly. Right now she's at Carburator Land, the rebuilt 2bbl Carter wasn't running so smooth, and I have a 4 bbl intake, so yeah, that's happening. Electronic ignition, choke too. I'm going for more smiles per gallon.

Right on, I'd love to see your ride personally. Mine's in the hospital fixing the stuff that I don't know how to do. Hopefully she'll be fixed up and ready over the next 10 days. I'm optimistic that I'll score some goodies there, I've been there a few times before. It's a great swap and show.

    66 daily driver

This is how I bought the car, most of the trim was missing. I've been able to find everything, but now I need to figure out how to mount them. Also being in SoCal, I've been told to try Hillco fastener in Garden Grove, but I'm guessing that I'll have to drill out the holes and find some...

SOLD CARTER AFB 4bbl. Carburetors. 40+ Year Collection. All Years & Engines.

I am replacing the original 2 barrel manifold with a dual plane 4 barrel intake manifold and my mechanic says that a Holly or Edelbrock carb will not fit due to the bolt pattern. He suggested looking for a 600CFM AFB carburetor with an electronic choke. You seem to know your stuff unlike me...

Need help on trim for my 66 Fury

I bought this convertible missing most of the trim. Thanks to y'all, I've been able to secure all the missing pieces. Now comes the tough part. How do I mount them? The prior owner removed them all and appears to have trimmed off the mounting studs and clips. I'm hoping that someone has a...

I know that this is a very old post but I see that you are still very active in the forum so I was hoping that I could crack that brilliant brain of yours. I just curated this 4bbl manifold and hope to bring my old girl back to life. Do you know of a bolt kit available for a 318 poly...

    66 Fury taillight-restore or replace?

What's on the car is the original taillights with a lovely dent. I have a set of Sport Fury tail lights but I prefer the original look. Does anybody have experience in repairing these or is it better to replace them?

For Sale 66 FURY 2DHT PARTING OUT

The Fury made a I, II, III and the Sport Fury. From what I know it's basically the trim level, emblems and interior. Speaking of trim, I was able to source a fair amount of it from Desert Valley in Phoenix. Unfortunately I don't know how to mount them to the door and rear quarters. I'm afraid...
