I bypassed the resistor and same issue. Also purchased new one and it does same thing.

I’m at a loss…my 70 fury 318 will start and as soon as I release the key to run, it shuts off. I’ve replaced the ignition switch with two separate brands and still getting the same thing. It will run if I keep the key in the start position. As soon as I release to run….shuts off I’ve bypassed...

I hadn't thought about soldering wire to the housing, but that might be what I end up doing. I can't seem to get the socket to fit snug
