1965 New Yorker A-727 Park position

Perhaps Murry Park might have a used one? Just REMEMBER two things. One is to not consider a used cable as a "new" cable. Two is to only buy a NOS cable when possible, in Chrysler packaging, as some eBay sellers might be selling NewOldReplacementStock items which might be sourced off-shore...

    Spark Plug question

Yep, something like that. From an engineering standpoint, key thing, they are the best ones out there, plus being the spark plug of choice by GM and such as re-packaged OEM plugs now-a-days. At the OEM level, they have to guarantee exhaust emissions for 100K miles, so that means they'll last...

    Spark Plug question

In our 383s and 400s, the J-14Y and J-13Y, and J-12Y all "color" the same on the ceramics, in normal driving. J-10Ys, or even J-9Ys were for the HP 4bbl motors, which would also be classed as "police" motors, which can be run at extended periods at WOT, where their spark plug heat range can...

    Trans Options

What type of "better" TF are you seeking? Why not contact a local transmission shop and have them do an OEM HP rebuild with a 11.75" converter or the 10.75" converter? At the worst, should be somebody in San Antonio that could do that. Contact somebody in the San Antonio Mopar Club for some...

    Help identifying rear end part

The West Coast Differential website has several Eaton Differential Application Guides in it. Which have specs for axle diameter, number of splines, ring gear diameter, etc. www.differentials.com Take care, CBODY67 PS . . . sorry if that link does not work. I re-types it many times and every...

    Help identifying rear end part

Thanks for the additional information. In doing a Google search for "Detroit Locker differential", I came up with several images which look basically similar to your pictures, for a "Detroit Locker" differential. Only thing missing are the 4 round pieces for the center piece of the mechanism...

    Help identifying rear end part

Those stamped numbers are not the part number, but most probably some sort of internal production number. Are there any clutches or springs you can see inner to the unit you can see from the outside? "Casting numbers" would be something to search for, if there are any. What about stamped...

Hobby Upholstery shop setup and projects

i figured out long ago that there are some things which others can do better, just have to find them. There are some things that after watching others do them, that I can do at least as well, after a few times. There are some things where particular "special tools or locations" are needed to...

    Thinking about a stroker

Shhhh, don't give anybody any ideas! I was surprised to see the posts of people putting Dodge Ram Hemi ZFs to replace their 4L80Es OR instead of such. A definite improvement! That "GM garbage" funded my Chrysler habits for over 40 years. The more it broke, the more I made selling parts...

    Thinking about a stroker

Build the 400 block with a 440 stroke. Recondition some 906s with hard valve seats. An Edelbrock Performer 383 intake (painted Chrysler Turquoise engine color), topped with a 650cfm AVS2 and the OEM air cleaner (but with a base plate from a 383 HP Road Runner, which makes the OEM air cleaner...

Yet Another Green Custom Suburban 1970 Fury Wagon - Not Mine Asking - $12,750, One Owner, 99,220 Miles

That is "covert language" which means the current seller is a "dealer". Who probably bought it for a little bit of money, perceiving that profits might be made for them. That somebody "up north" (who does not need a/c) might buy such a rust-free vehicle and pay good money for it. Just some...

    Robertshaw part number 335-195 thermostat?

If they are the same diameter as for a B/RB motor, that would probably be their main application, with a 195 degree F rating. If they are smaller than the B/RB diameter, they will also fit GM cars and 1980 and newer Chrysler LA motors, at 195 degree F rating. Not sure of the Ford thermostat...

    Shocks for 72 C body

Inside of those air shocks is probably the earlier large-size piston and possibly the earlier valving of earlier years. At the minimum pressure of about 30psi, that's not enough to raise the rear of the car if at all, just expand the boots holding the air. The old Monroe Super 500s were their...

    Lifter noise at start up

Regarding replacement camshafts, OEM vs. aftermarket/replacement. When I was getting ready to upgrade the cam in one of my cars, along about 1980 or so, although when our heavy line guys in the shop changed out a camshaft, they just replaced it, as far as I could tell. No mention in the OEM's...

    Lifter noise at start up

I remember that recommendation too. Usually to "clean out" dirty hydraulic valve lifters. Allegedly, the added detergents in the atf and its thinner viscosity would allow it to get into places the normal motor oil could not. Therefore, it could allegedly get things cleaned up. CBODY67

    Lifter noise at start up

Might check the exhaust manifold bolts for snuggness, just to make sure. As to the Rotella oils, the "Rotella Gas Truck" motor oil is troubling! Reports are that it has no more zddp than a normal "car" oil does. Which then means 5W-40 Rotella T6 full-syn or another Rotella "T" oil. According...
