That's not the first time I've heard that tip.

    Lifter noise at start up

I assume you set the choke by depressing the gas pedal prior to cold startup, which of course would have the car start more quickly. I expect the oil pump is losing its prime. The oil system could benefit from a few low speed/low effort rotations before the engine stars to help prime the pump...

    Shifter column knob

If it's the plastic knob on the chrome lever, AFAIK, it is just glued on, and will twist off. The lever may have a locating spline that the knob has a corresponding slot for, but glue is the adhesive. If it's on there strongly, twisting it off may ruin it, so plan on replacing it regardless...

For Sale 1958 to 1978 Big Block Single Bolt Steel Gear Timing Set

I am interested, but you'll need to forgive my lack of knowlege - are these correct for 440 or do they fit B blocks only? Do they eliminate the plastic gear that is found in original motors?

Absolutely. Use a 67 or up dual circuit drum master such as noted above by @Just Carbs - it will simply bolt right on. Just choose the one for manual brakes or power brakes as per your car's setup. As well, there is a proper distribution setup already available for easy-peasy install on eBay...

1966 Fury III - Unfinished Project

It's an old one that's been floating around here on FCBO - many cars for sale are made to look shiny by soaking them with a hose just prior to photos - so many in fact that we started calling them on it by saying HOSE!... so whenever we see a hose in a picture of a car (for sale or not) it's now...

    Passenger seat recline mechanism

A clevis will have the proper heat treating to withstand the friction and not wear out or bind as easily. A bolt may not have that ability for as long... A couple of decent washers to isolate the retaining pin and you're good to go. There may have been some sort of decorative cover over the...
