Many times when the fan motor pulls a little hard, it will overheat the fan switch plugin and the switch. you will be able to see that it's melted somewhat. You need to find a good pigtail and a new fan switch.

1966 Chrysler would have a AFB.

Remember to get the Edelbrock 1481 throttle adapter.

In 1971 they went to part throttle kickdown, if you install a 1970 trans you won't have that, not the end of the world, but it is nice to have. A & A Transmission has a kit to add to the 70 and earlier transmission.

And you will no longer have your part throttle kickdown.

Check the kickdown lever on the transmission. If they are different lengths, use the one from your Polara. A body uses the 3 rod bellcrank kickdown system with the shorter lever. C bodies usually use the 1 rod system with the longer lever. If you use the wrong lever the ratio won't be right. So...

Swap meets are the best places, garage and estate sales the have mecanical stuff. Anytime you run into an old guy, ask him if he has any R12 around yet. Usually garage sales don't know what it worth. Not much demand at swap meets, so at the end of the day-you can usually talk the guy down.

Find you some R12 and forget about the 134. You can find some if you look a little bit.

Did you use a gasket? I had that happen 40 years ago-just using RTV and it wouldn't turn. You have to use a gasket!

I've seen several 74 Nebraska State Patrol Gran Fury's that had forged crank 440s. You just never know?

The 72 440 should still have the forged crank, 74 not so much.
