Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

...see what the car would look like with a white painted top. PS: she got a full tune-up this Sunday, too: plugs (Champion) - cap & rotor (Accel 8020) - oil change (PennGrade 15W40 oil, WIX filter) - trans mount (Prothane) - trans filter/fluid/gasket - Exhaust leak fixed (Remflex 6006).

The lighting and my screen make the paint look like Y2 Sunfire Yellow in those photos!

    Oil Changes on older cars

...zinc! I shan't consider any further additives such as Rislone's with a healthy amount like this. I think Valvoline's VR1 is higher, and Penngrade, Wolf's head and Kendall all contend but most motor oils with any zinc nowadaze only permit amounts in solution > 1000 ppm if for diesel engines...

Seen Wolf's Head around. I think Kendall mutated to Penngrade.... some corporate buggery.

Name moved to Texas. Pennzoil did the same. The Pennzoil refinery is gone. The old Kendall is still in Bradford Pa. Their bottling plant is outdated, hence the merger/partnership with the place in Indiana.

    440 Manual Turn Crank Direction

I injected Marvels Mystery Oil into the cylinders of my convertible a couple of weeks ago, the following day I loaded them up with Penngrade 10w30, a day or 2 later I primed it and a day or 2 after that I fired it up inside my shop and there was no more smoke from the tailpipes than what comes...

...which is just over 210 F. (I see it rise to as high as 230 F when the motor is shut off, but not for too long.) If I had more $$, I'd run Penngrade 10W30, but am quite happy with the Motorcraft diesel engine oil I get for $20/5 qt jug. 1217 ppm of zinc is quite good for that price, and the...

Just got off the phone with a local shop who loves to work on old cars. Owner has a 29 Pontiac! Has only used WIX filters and said he’d check the oil pressure switch to make sure that isn’t a problem. Next Friday Eleanor goes on for a transfusion. So much for the July 2nd cruise night.

...octane 91 or 93 here in the states and run 1oz of marine 2 cycle oil(with TC-W3) per every 5 gallons of gas in the tank to help deal with the ethanol in todays pump gas. Maybe in Scotland you have non ethanol fuel available, this would be ideal. As far as oil I run Penngrade. Don’t run...

How much OIL cooling is cost effective to an Arizona Urbanite?

...Zn. I do thank you though Dave for advising me about zinc and flat tappet cams! When I build that 400, I'm dedicating it to a diet of Penngrade from birth. I think we have consensus that an engine oil cooler won't be needed for my low revving, city driven 383. I LIKE the idea of a...

What viscosity and brand engine oil and filter do you prefer to use in your C-Body?

...enough, Brad Penn oil has been bought by another company. I did a search this morning for Brad Penn and discovered that it's now Penngrade oil and owned by DA Lubricants. DA makes DA Speed Sport oil and was always very active with Indy racing. There is no mention on their sites other than...
