    Radiator Hose inner coil

What makes you think you need one? A hose that is in good shape and not old should work under normal driving. The new hoses are a different rubber than the hoses of yesterday. but if you still think you need one they are out there...

    68 Newport Cam break in

Ok a little frustrated at this point, car started up good was breaking the cam in, but the car was getting hot like 210 220, radiator was ok, but the temp wouldn't shoot down , just put a new 180 thermostat in. The heater hoses were hot so the coolant was flowing through there we were trying to...

    Thermostat Housing

Yeah, it wasn't that big of a deal. I was never a believer it could be done with the compressor in place, but I was hopeful. Good call on the donor hose. I asked the guy at O'Riley's if they had radiator hose springs and he looked at me like I was speaking Latin. I believe the ID is 1.75" on...

Shopping for upper radiator hose - newb question

Most the time I shop for parts at my local O'Reilly's as I'm an old school person. I like to be able to examine the part in my hands before I walk out, and I normally need a part right then and there. I think I can count on my hand all the times I've ordered parts online that were not fun time...

    Thermostat Housing

Not that I said I told you so.....can't get that stupid bolt out on any B or RB engine with A/C. I was considering grinding a little bit of that bracket just enough to get a socket on the bolt since the compressor is braced and cross braced to the point of overkill. As far as the spring for...

    Engine Boiled over

If you have to play with the antifreeze mix you have bigger problems than that. It could be anything from a thermostat or a radiator cap. Do you have a fan clutch? Those are overlooked all the time. Are you sure the antifreeze isn't leaking out of the water pump weep hole? Someone mentioned if...

    Thermostat Housing

Okay…whoever said it was possible to remove the thermostat housing with the A/C compressor in place must not have done so on a '65 383. It was IMPOSSIBLE! I had to loosen the compressor and put a 2" x 2" block of wood under the compressor to be able to get at the bolt with a swivel socket. It...

    Engine Boiled over

Try not to let it get that hot again as that's not good for your engine. Start by checking the thermostat and the general condition of your lower radiator hose. If its really soft and there's no spring inside it to keep it from collapsing you should replace it.

Calling for a Pow wow from the Best and the Brightest - Overheating.

No Yes Done only because the seals were worn. Nothing else. I'm 99% sure. Every empirical test convinces me it's not the radiator. It's overheating the exact same way as with the old radiator. Sidebar: 1976 Chrysler New Yorker OEM Radiator For Sale. Works perfectly. First thing I...

    Thermostat?

For starters I would change the thermostat (180 degree) and I changed the thermostat housing neck. The OE one always #$%^&^ leak on me. This is a good one from 440 Source. http://store.440source.com/Billet-Aluminum-Water-Neck-New/productinfo/114-1004/ Fel Pro 35063 thermostat gasket It...

Need some 65-66 Fury engine compartment pics

My 66 Fury 383 4bbl does not have an overflow. Just a rubber drain tube to the driveway. The drain tube runs down the driver side of the radiator through two spring clips so it stays out of the fan. I will get picks of my air con and radiator. All original except the shop fabbed up a return line...
