    Inherited a 66 polara wagon

The key is only used to lower the rear glass, it has nothing to do iwth opening/closing the tailgate. There is a latch on the top of the tailgate in the center that you use to relaease the latches on the tailgate. You can't bring the tailgate down until the glass is inside the tailgate.

    Inherited a 66 polara wagon

You have to get the glass down to be able to open the tailgate, and you have to hope the power rear glass motor is working. If the key is just broken off in the lock you might be able to use a screw driver to turn it and get the power rear glass to come down...if it was the proper key. If not...

Help to identify Axle on 68 Newport Convertible

I'm not sure what carrier that is? When I looked at the pics I said to myself...What is up with all that extra ribbing and fanges! Sure doesn't have the standard look of a 741/742 case, and definitely not a 489 case. Best I can suggest is to get some solvent and couple good brushes, a bunch...

    Bucket seat question....

Thinking of going to buckets/ buddy seat in my 68 T/C wagon and wondering what years and cars would I be looking at? I assume 66-68 across all the platforms would most likely be the same, but might be just the 67/68 with 66 being a slightly different animal? I have a C-body buddy seat and...

Drilled cranks can be hit of miss, you won't know until you get the auto out of the way. All the Z-bars, A/B/C/E-body thread into the bell housing so any bell housing you get should be good to go, and if it didn't come as a factory 4 speed then you will have to weld, or fabricate the frame rail...

    Inherited a 66 polara wagon

Thanks for the pics...Looks like it's in decent shape, appears to have torque thrust rims, and looks like it has been towed by the front bumper more then once. :(

    Opinions on ethanol treatments

Ive been using the Marine Sta-Bal for 5-6 years now and it definetly does help with mitigate the negative effects of ethanol in the fuel. I have a lot of gas powered small engines, quads, snow mobiles, generator, chipper, mower etc etc....and I put the Sta-bal in all my fuel that is going in to...

Look'n not proper inside brake drum...

Those starwheel adjustment plates are specific right and left side....I've seen more then one vehicle with them switched, or two of the same side. There is a small notch on theback side that grabs the starwheel if it's installed correctly.

My 1966 Chrysler Town and Country

Love that your Grandfather bought the wagon new! The old long roof looks great...how many miles are on the old girl? And I love the steelies and raised white letter tires!

How will my insurance company find parts for this...

Man that sucks...So sad to see this! I had a guy turn right in front of me in my wagon last summer...looked right at me and did it anyway, being a trucker I never trust other vehicles to do what they appear to be doing so I had my foot covering the brake already...slammed on them disc brakes...

It literally states what the car is in the title to the thread...C-body - 1970 440/6bbl GT, or if you need it broken down further then a 1970 Sport Fury GT with a factory V-code 440/6bbl motor....No mention of a Daytona anywhere.

    oil changes on newer cars

My wife's 11 Caliber has the oil monitoring system and it is usually around the 10-12K km's range when it calls for the oil to be changed. The look and smell of the oil coming out of the crankcase leads me to believe it was in there to long...but what do I know. ;) Car still runs good with no...

Fluid Damper versus OE replacement Dampener.

I run a fluidampr on my 12V Cummins motor and it's a lot larger than the OEM unit and has caused some clearance issues for the fan and accessories etc, I would suspect that the BB mopar unit might be the same? I would go with a new replacement OEM unit.

Usually it was a flat woven stainless strap...about 1/2" to 3/4" across, with two eyes on the end.

Finally installed my 2 post lift....

It has already come in handy....I picked up a "new to me" an 11' - `1979 Vanguard camper and due to no camper bars on my truck had to load it on my trailer. Then I had to figure out how to get it off when I got home. Would have been 100x's harder without the lift. Carefully backed it...

Finally installed my 2 post lift....

And again since I knew where the lift was going to be positioned I installed an outlet in the ceiling, so I just had to run some armored cable down to the pump and then drill and tap a couple locations on the column to secure it. Pretty much all done and ready to go.... Now I knew what I...

Finally installed my 2 post lift....

Then due to the drill bit walking a bit I had to massage the openings in the base to align with the anchors. All bolted down...I went with grade 5 bolts and hardened washers since the shear for grade 5 and grad 8 are pretty close, but a grade 5 will stretch before it snaps unlike the grade *...

Finally installed my 2 post lift....

Well I finally got my 2 post lift installed in the shop...well that was about a month ago now. ;) It's a 9000lbs off shore unit but I only paid $1100 for it I think...that was almost 5 years ago now. Bought it before I even built the shop and was tarped up outside for several years, then once...
