...piston with wire to hold it compressed so it would fit into mounting hole, the trimming the wire and pulling it out of the upper mounting hole was worth the effort. The ride control and firm feel was restored up front, and that big boy handles like it was new! There is no substitute for KYB...

KYBs have been a favorite in here for a long time. Monroe used to be the OEM supplier to Chrysler, but I'm not sure about their current model line. Some have said the fronts are not stiff enough, but the KYBs work well. Just some observations, CBODY67

Front and rear shock absorbers for my 57 Belvedere 301 v8?

...but what was suggested above and what you did would be the only suggestion I could offer. I'm surprised the shocks were sent fully extended from KYB. I've never seen that. I'm guessing the boxes they came in were almost twice as long as the shock body itself. Was there KYB marking on the...

    Shocks

    Shocks for 72 C body

I have installed KYB on 1970 & 1971 Fury. The front shocks were a bear to install. Personally, I'd spend the least on front shocks and the most on new Firm Feel torsion bars. As to rear shocks, I like the KYB. @ayilar will have further advice.
