That might complicate things a little. I have to do research on glowing paint now...

I have! And I'm going to repalce that as well with the new material. I've already made a perfect digital version of the Speedometer scale so I can either cut it out of vinyl or cut a stencil from vinyl to paint it onto the new wood grain. I will have to try what works best. In this process I...

Thanks Mika, I'll look into it but probably go with the 3M stuff. It's textures, like the original film and actually looks nice.

It is out of control, you're right! And I'm still loving it! :) I did test the vacuum switch and it seems to work like it should! I will have to check it again when it's in the car tho.

Here are a few parts that show the tight corners and bends I mean.

I have thought about using real wood veneer myself, but abandoned that idea because the interior pieces in the 69 are not made for that. A lot of shape corners and bends. The cars in the earlier years which had real wood veneer from the factory were designed with that in mind so the parts were...

There are a lot of Walnut patterns, but no black walnut unfortunately. FW-650 has a similar structure to the original, I lake that one!

I guess I have to choose one of the ones I like and change it on all the parts throughout the interior. I really like the Plum Wood, especially in my Deep Plum Imperial! But I ain't paying >$3000 for an entire roll :/ Maybe I'll find another vendor...

Indeed, that seems to be what @Boydsdodge referred to! But unfortunately "Crossfire Walnut" seem to be a made up name by Chrysler because I can't find anything under that name. Something like Rich Corinthian leather ;)

The materials I posted are more or less available, yes. Less available in a way that the Plum foil for example is only available as an entire roll (at least in Germany) and comes at a price tag of 3100€... The others are available for around 100€/meter.

I have the original big Dealer Sales Album, but there is no mention about the "Wood Grain" at all.

There are always variations in such a natural product, but afaik Chrysler used 3M Di-NOC structured foil from the factory. I agree, it doesn't look like teak to me either. There is Walnut available, but unfortunately no Claro Walnut.

It's not that I haven't tried! I searched for years for a NOS one but there is none... The part I need would be: 2950 504 - Lower Steering Column Bearing My bearing is fine, just not like new. I makes very little noise. I talked to a big bearing seller and tried to find a new ball bearing with...

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a NOS Lower Bearing, so I took it apart to removed the bearing. It was very rusty, so I cleaned all the old grease out of it and then removed the rust with evaporust. Then I filled it with fresh grease and reinstalled the seals. It's not perfect, but it will...

The original metal gasket was somehow too lose, so I added a layer of 3M Scotchgard Tape to the rear. Now it fits very well.

After waiting forever for some NOS parts I finally was able to reassemble the steering column. As usual, all the otiginal parts were media blasted, zinc plated and painted to look as good as new or even better! :) A new Turn Signal Switch (Shee-Mar SM-107) and a NOS Turn Signal Switch...
