No power after changing headlight switch on 66 Fury lll

Hi Guys and thanks for all your advice! I found my problem in that the Male contact on the bulkhead connector that the fusible link went to was cracked. I replaced it and headlights now work!! Can't tell you enough how relieved I was! Thanks again!!!

No power after changing headlight switch on 66 Fury lll

So all my lights were working except the headlights. I changed the bright light dimmer switch on the floor with no change. I bought a new headlight switch and before I put it back in, I wanted to try it. So I turned it on and put the cable back on the battery. As soon as I did that, there was a...

    Steering coupler needed

Believe me, I did think of that, but when I called a local LandRover dealer, they said the couplers were obsolete. And I bought the last one I saw on E Bay. I never really looked into any other year that might have had the same coupling. Does anyone know?

    Steering coupler needed

I had the same problem, so I had the thickness ground to the same size as the old one, then counterbored the holes so the bolt head would fit. Dropped right in! Of course, I work in a machine shop, so it was no extra $$ for me.

    Steering coupler needed

Yes it is twisted and connects at 90 degrees. Mine was broken also so I just replaced that piece with a hard wire so the connection would be made.

    Steering coupler needed

I did try to fit the new one in and it was a struggle and didn't seem to want to go. Something would have to be adjusted one way or another for it to fit.

    Steering coupler needed

Thank you for all the info! I bought the last one(Range Rover) he had on E Bay and received it yesterday. This is for my 66 Fury. I am choosing to grind the the width a little closer to the original size, open the holes for the bolt head like you did, then install. Thanks again!
