Question about lower control arm and torsion bar

Left and right? The bars were pre-tensioned at the factory, in order to reduce the diameter and weight of the bar. Consequently, if you mix them up, the suspension will fail.

Question about lower control arm and torsion bar

OT: I once heard of a bunch of boys to whom you could only give a three foot long piece of an iron rail as a toy. If it was longer, they would break it. If it was shorter, they would lose it.

Question about lower control arm and torsion bar

0.96”, 47” torsion bar was the ”standard suspension” bar in many Chryslers from ’65 to ’71, at least, and possibly in ’72 and ’73 (I haven’t checked on those). A Heavy Duty bar, which was used in AC equipped cars, would have been 0.98” in those years. Later models (’74 to ’78) used sturdier bars.

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler 300 convertible in Finland

That is in the ballpark what they go for around here. Low 20’s to high 20’s. If it needed a lot of work it would still be around 15K. - I’ll see what I can do about the Fender Tag.

NOT MINE 1970 300 convertible (not mine)

I concur. The '70 engines had a slightly higher compression ratio (9.7 to one versus 8.8 to one) than the '71 engines, so the horsepower rating was slightly higher, too. But what is interesting is the large difference btw the ratings, when it was in net horses. The 1970 U-code had 375 gross, and...

NOT MINE 1970 300 convertible (not mine)

It’s a reasonable offer… at 1650 usd. Drop it into a restoration shop and start tearing up Franklins. Once you get past twelve hundred of them, it will begin to look very nice indeed. It used to be a very nice car.

Allora in miglia, il che significa che l'auto è stata importata dagli Stati Uniti. (Speedo is in miles, which indicates that the car was imported from the US. Not an original ”Europe import” from back in the day.)

Leaf Springs or Air Shocks for sagging 197070 Chrysler 300

Get new springs. I got mine (7 leaf, 1” over stock height) from Espo Springs’n Things. Had to arrange for them to be shipped overseas, took 3 months, and cost some, too. Your purchase will be a lot less tedious. They will drop them to your door in a matter of days.

Hello from germany / 440 New Yorker

Ditch the mufflers the TTI come with. They are too loud for a NYer. Replace with Walker 18230 (OEM) or 21856 (’60’s Cadillac muffler). You won’t be sorry.

    Modified Road Wheel Centers

The AMC ”volcano” cap is very similar. Main difference is it having a slightly thinner profile. Both the Chrysler cap, and the AMC cap have the ”splines” at the top piece. I made a comparative DWG profile view out of both, will have to find the file.

Lets Play A Game: Last Of The Convertibles

Thank you again, @fc7_plumcrazy. I figured they must have been independents. Perhaps Auto-Becker, and such. So the numbers must have been very low indeed. Perhaps one hand figures.

Lets Play A Game: Last Of The Convertibles

Thank you for clarification, @fc7_plumcrazy on the AMAG product offerings. BTW, do you know who imported Chryslers to Germany back in the day? Somebody must have done that, as they (at least New Yorker and Imperial) showed up in the Auto Motor und Sport magazine price lists, IIRC in the spring...
