    Propane Power

I have no current intentions of doing this but I watched this video this a.m. and was wondering if anyone here had converted something over to propane, like an old car or truck. I'm guessing there are kits out, but I've never really looked or even thought about it until this video. I've...

Help Me figure Out My Transmission Issues, Ram 1500

The truck is a 2005 Ram 1500 5.7 AWD I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me troubleshoot my problem. I was driving home and everything was fine. I turned onto my road, got on it, then out of nowhere while still in the throttle, a pop/jolt and I lost all gears forward and reverse. She...

    Fuel Storage (Gas) Suggestions/Experience

I'm tired of doing the 5 gal can shuffle so I'm looking into to storing some fuel, non-ethenol pump gas to be specific. I have a supply/choice of 55 gal drums available to me (metal that shipped ink or plastic that shipped an industrial solvent). I expect 55 gal to supply me for 3-4 months at...

    Project Farm: Car Battery Test

I saw this yesterday and thought I'd post it here. Personally I've always had good results from Autozone batteries, with all lasting 7 years or more. I thought it was interesting that Wal Mart batteries are made by the same company but deliver a little more power. I wonder if they last as long.

    Hydraulic Cylinder Rebuild

My tractor has two leaky cylinders that I've pulled off to have rebuilt this coming week, but at local shop rates of $80/hr and expect 2hr per cylinder + parts (I was told ball park $750 by my kubota dealer), I'm wondering if this is something I can pick up the parts for and do myself. So do...

Looking For '65 Chrysler Brake Light Switch

I'm looking for a brake light switch that doesn't seem to exist for some reason, or at least I haven't found one yet. Can any of you guys point me in the right direction here? Here's the original. I can't quite make out that part #

    '65 Chrysler Front Suspension Restoration

Over the last month I've been working on rebuilding my front suspension due to my lower control arm bushings being shot. I'm lucky enough to have a known low mileage car so everything was factory original and in relatively good shape. I was able to determine 90% of what things looked like as new...

Bent Strut Rod; Straighten, Replace, or Leave as-is

As the title implies I have a bent strut rod ('65 New Yorker). I'm rebuilding the front end so everything will be new (bushings/ball joints). So what are y'alls opinions? If I replace the rod(s) would you try to find original or go with Firm Feels HD which claim to be not compatible with the...

    105mm Vs Land Rover

I get a kick out of this destructive non sense and I figured some of you will too. M60 tank and a recoil-less rifle hit a Land Rover.

Starts but won't run issue, help me trouble shoot

So I drove my car (65 New Yorker) to get breakfast this morning and everything was fine. I got back and washed it, then when I went to put it back in the garage she would start like normal, then immediately cut off when I let off of the key/put it in the run position. I tried it a few times and...

    Getting a title in NC

Guys I have a car that I need to title, but there are complication with the title. Back story; I bought the car 15 years ago with an open title, and I have the original title. Now here is where things get "fun". The guy that I bought the car from bought it from the 2nd owner in 72', then stuffed...

How to mount a fan shroud?

Guys I bought a fan shroud from Davescuda and I'm looking to install it this weekend but I can't find any specs/examples of how to mount the brackets to the radiator. I assume some type of cage nut, but I can't find any examples/specs of what will fit the slots properly. If anybody can help me...

Would you ride in Ken Blocks 65 Mustang?

Thought I'd link this if anybody likes the Gymkhana videos. This is Ken Blocks latest Gymkhana video with his mildly modified 65 Mustang, the "Hoonicorn", version 2.0 going up hill. I think this version makes 1400 hp to all 4 wheels chugging methanol. I'd love to take a ride in it, but only on...

    Leaf spring rebuild

I'm looking to do a small project on my car since I'm not yet emotionally ready to fork out a large sum of money for upholstery, I thought I would rebuild my leaf spring packs. I've searched here and didn't find anything relevant, nor did I find any ready made kits for my car on line (65 New...

Wood workers, demolition experts?; I want to put a high explosives box in my Chrysler

Guys, I have had an old wooden "high explosives" box hanging out in my garage for the last 15 years and I got the idea to repair it now so that I can use it to carry/contain supplies for traveling (a quart of oil, trans fluid, paper towels, etc.). My problem is that the bottom has rotted out...

Anyone had a 3rd gen truck fuel leak?

Well I'm getting ready for a vacation coming up in a few weeks and out of nowhere my truck starts pouring fuel from somewhere around the pump assembly. It's not an instant pour. No spray as soon as the key cycles or anything. The truck needs to run/drive for a little while to pool fuel around...

Forgotten, Abandoned, Back Yard Hoards, and Project Purgatory Cars

My job has me on the road a lot burning up country roads and city streets alike, and I'm sure there are a few others here doing similar. Recently I started snapping pictures of cars in some state of "rest" that catch my eye, so I though I would create a place to post what I see, and see what...
