    Deleting a/c compressor

I hear the roar of the fan when the car starts up, and I hear it go away as the clutch disengages. Where as before, it was an always present noise that varied relative to engine speed.

    Deleting a/c compressor

Clutch fans are generally loud once when you start the car up, and depending on RPM (viscous) or temperature (thermal spring), the disengage and turn and almost freewheel. My old one wasn't disengaging. The new one you can hear disengage shortly after starting the car.

    Deleting a/c compressor

Well after talking to Wildcat Mopars and checking a few more avenues, I decided not to spend $400 on cleaning up the engine bay, and ended up putting everything back. Got rid of a lot of the AC lines and plumbing, so technically it looks much cleaner, but I'm still using a 60lb compressor as an...

    WANTED Non-AC front accessories.

Looking to ditch the AC compressor on my 400 and looking for a non-AC Big Block to donate it's front accessories. Mainly looking for water pump and crank pulleys and a Saginaw PS pump and brakets, but just looking for a non AC car with complete front dress.

    Deleting a/c compressor

Yeah I saw that crazy priced ad on eBay earlier. No way I'm paying that. I'll put up a wanted ad, and try that Wildcat Mopars place tomorrow.

    Deleting a/c compressor

So I talked to 440 source, and apparently in order to get everything to line up, I'm going to need the Saginaw pump, brackets, and bolts and a 2 groove crank pulley. The pulley isn't that expensive. The saginaw pumps I'm seeing on eBay are exorbitantly priced. Checked moparts and the...

Guess that's what I get for posting in frustration, lol.

    Deleting a/c compressor

Getting rid of the AC because I want to reduce engine clutter and dont use AC.

    Deleting a/c compressor

I'm about ready to put the damn compressor back on and just run it as is. This is pissing me off. Just hate clutter in an engine bay, especially for non-working equipment.

    Deleting a/c compressor

This is way harder than it needs to be. Looking top down, looks like the back two grooves on the crank pulley are too far back relative to the water pump, and any pulley would have to sit far enough back where the pulley would interfere with the water pump bolts. What a pain in the ***...

    Deleting a/c compressor

So I'm guessing I just needed a smaller diameter water pump pulley that lines the alternator up with one of the back two grooves. Maybe this: MOPAR PLYMOUTH DODGE 340 383 440 WATER PUMP PULLEY 6 1/2 X 2 1/8 CLEAN SHOW B E | eBay

    Deleting a/c compressor

So my PS pump lines up with the second groove from the end of my 4 groove crank pulley. If I have to buy another crank pulley that's fine, I just want to make sure I get the right set of pulleys. Any known good solutions? Maybe I'll just call Bouchillon or 440 Source and ask what they suggest.

    Deleting a/c compressor

I was only planning on using a single belt through the alternator and water pump

    Deleting a/c compressor

LMAO. Kinda figured. I was able to find a pulley on ebay that was almost 1" less depth. That's probably it. Just didn't know how many iterations of the pulley there were and why my non-ac pulley from 440 source was too deep...

    Deleting a/c compressor

I know this has been discussed ad nauseam and I've read a lot of threads on the topic, however I'm still stumped. Car is a '67 Fury with a smog 400. My intent was to delete the a/c compressor and remove all associated components to clean up the engine bay. I purchased this alternator bracket...

    Intake Question - 4bbl upgrade

That's a good thought, I'd never considered that. How exactly can I ascertain if it's open or shut?

    Intake Question - 4bbl upgrade

No the engine, carb, manifold, and car itself are all different years as far as I know. I do know, those two ports connect directly to one half of the EGR port on the right side of the manifold. The other half connects to the crossover tube. With a blank off plate in place, those holes...
