    1965 Dodge Monaco Fuel System Saga-Part 1

Please let me know if you run into any problems. Use the OEM tank straps, clean them up with a wire brush or grinder. Buy new tank J Bolts and gas fill neck rubber. Vans Auto is really nice for everything.

Vansauto.com. Give them a call. They should be able to help with an exact fit remanufacture tank. Had my installed for a few years now without any issues at all.

    1965 Dodge Monaco Fuel System Saga-Part 1

The Spectrum CR20 B DID NOT fit. Completely wrong and no way to modify to a 65 Monaco. Think it’s a WB difference by just enough. I ended up buying the 65-66 Monaco specific tank from Vans Auto.

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Good to know. I'll look at the FSM. I want to put a 160 in it anyway. Just need to buy an OEM type and not this aftermarket junk. Still wish I won the lottery. I'd buy your 65 and put the money into a full restoration. Still jealous to this day. Makes me smile everytime I see your car thread...

Also, this car has the rear blower defrost. Though, I haven't gotten up enough courage to turn it on yet. The switch is mounted to the left of the drivers knee. Think it either pulls out or turns? Haven't bothered messing with it yet. The blower, ducting, and all the wiring on the passenger side...

This is awesome Mike. Thank You! Hard to believe you found NOS filler pieces. That's amazing. I will keep searching though and will ask around at Carlisle this year.

Need to actually sit down this winter and decode these. Lucky to have everything. Only thing I'm missing is the dealer Cert-card. Doubt I'll ever find that though.

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Awesome this option list helps greatly. Thank You! Gaps fillers exactly, on the very end of the bumpers. You can see in my pics of the front end they are missing. Haven't had much luck finding anything NOS or aftermarket.

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Much appreciated Dave as always. Think I'd prefer to stick with drums honestly. I have good luck with drum brakes in general. As you stated, I am that faint of heart type changing over completely to discs. If I ever did, I'd pay someone else to do it or buy the aftermarket kit.

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Also @Davea Lux I've had alot of people comment about the bumper ettes on this car. Guess that's the correct term or bumper pushers. Are these an original common option or rare? Haven't seen many other 65's that have those. The hardest thing also I've not located is the bumper rubber ends. My...

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Thanks Dave. That is some wonderful information. Just don't know if I would get in over my head converting to disc brakes? Finding the correct parts to make everything work properly. I'm sure there is a year Chrysler I could get everything off of parts wise. I'm guessing 67 and up or later...

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Not sure yet. I did tackle the rears already. The brake lines from the differential block out to rear wheel cylinders were a bit painful. Rusted tight. Luckily the distribution block was brass. That helped. Just want all new manufactured lines. Looking into Inline Tubes. I used them for gas...

    1965 Dodge Monaco Update

Thanks Dave! Great advice as always. I honestly think part of the problem is the sensor terminal. That nail head terminal is painful. Hard to mess with under the AC pump also.
