Found that the wiper motor on my '66 Fury VIP has failed; tested the system out to see if it worked and got the arms to move a little then magic smoke came out of the motor.
While disassembling everything I found the pop metal "cam"(?) was broken.

My...
For the first time in a time longer than I have owned this car, I finally got power to the whole car (pretty much :p ).
Just have to button up the dash and put a radio in, otherwise the all the lights work.
A major milestone for me on this build.
Hey all. I don't post much but I've finally made a lot of progress on my 1966 Fury VIP and I'm super stoked!
Figured I'd post some pictures of where things have gone in the 16 months since I brought it home.
My '66 Fury came with hood mounted turn signal indicators but not the sockets in the dash/speedo.
Found the factory wiring pig tails and would like to have everything work.
When I took the dash apart I found black fabric tape over the socket holes.
If there is some sort of generic "aftermarket"...
Still looking for 1 fender/hood mounted turn signal (picture for reference).
Does not have to be perfect as long as it still has it's mounting posts and the bulb socket isn't rusted together.
IE; usable condition.
TIA
While working on cleaning things up, I tried to take apart the hood mounted turn signals.
As you can see things didn't go so well.
I'm in need of 1 complete hood turn signal but will happily buy a set.
Picture for reference.
TIA
Hey all.
So while finally taking the front end apart on my '66 Fury I could finally see the strut rods and noticed a curve in them (picture).
Both sides seem to have a similar bend in them.
It is also very likely this car had some front end damage some time in it's life that might have bent...
I'm looking for a drivers side vent window regulator, or the internal gears for one.
Attached picture is the stripped gear of the one off my Fury that I found while trying to rebuild it.
Also willing to swap cash and all my parts for a working one if someone rebuilds them.
T.I.A.
I won, but everything hurts and I'm going to die.
A lot of people on the A-body forum said how much a pain putting a fuel tank in the second gen Barracuda was.
That job was a cake walk compared to the wrestling match I had today putting the new fuel tank in Furyosa!
Looking for 1965-66 (maybe 67-68??) fresh air vent cables. Chrome handle and bolts through the dash.
I know that members Reid and Marty have ones listed for sale, but Reid's inbox is full and Mary hasn't replied.
TIA
You can talk about your rare and 1-of-1's, but I can find a Hemi Daytona or Cuda convertable all day long.
But try and find a C-Body hearse (or ambulance)?!?
I want to find one in, at the very least, running/driving condition.
Trying to get information off the Internet is like trying to get a glass of water from Niagara Falls.
I'm in need of a throttle cable for my '66 Fury.
Information searches come up with everything from "It doesn't exist" to "It's the same as the pick-up truck's" to "It's the same as any B-body...
When I bought my '66 Newport it came with a spare 383 and Torqueflight. Since the original owner had passed away many years ago, why he had a spare (used) engine and trans isn't known. I know that some time in 1980-81 he parked the car (presumably with the spare engine) and there it stayed until...
As we all know some projects take longer to start than others. Today I finally got serious about taking my '66 Newport apart. Here's what a cooling system looks like after sitting since 1981.
To the forums that is.
Hey all. Been around Mopars since I bought my first Road Runner right after I graduated high school in 1982.
Currently I have a 1966 Chrysler Newport that was (I know, over used term) an original barn find and (also over used) bought from the original owner. It's a 383...
