'56 Imperial my parents bought in 1970.

Did anyone notice that sweet looking Dodge truck in the background?? Is that a PowerWagnon? Have to chuckle...the '56 has the "Chrysler sag" in the rear springs. My dad had 3 extra leaves put in mine when he had it. They never settled in and the rear is still just a tad higher than the front.

What do you guys use on exhaust manifolds?

Most responses don't address the surface prep. Wire brushing or wire wheel will NOT remove all the rust and ANY paint over ANY rust will not hold long term. If you're going to paint or coat them, they have to be hot-tanked first. And powder coating may not hold up to the heat. Ceramic coating...

    69 fury project car

Here's your chance to learn to be a mechanic. Truth is there's not much on these cars that's hard to do. Not like the new crap which you need a technician with 10 years of manufacturer's training to fix anything on it. Also remember...the same parts on this car will cost 1/10th what they do on a...

My First Project Car. 68 New Yorker 2 door. Help Needed!

If that front fender isn't rusted out, straighten it! A body shop should be able to do a "pull" on that pretty easily. Replacing these fenders is not an easy job. Get a Wolfe's heat shrink disk. Those things really work. You can tighten up metal and pull dents and puckers out that way to fine...

    For Sale Stub frame

These are hard to find... with the longer rails and rear isolation mounts. I looked for quite a while to find one. They were introduced in 69 or 70, I can't recall, and were only used on a few models of C-bodies at first...namely on hardtops too. That's a dam good deal at $350. I paid $600 which...

    rust

Honestly, a sandblasted can be had for under 50 bucks. You don't need a fancy one- small unit with a pistol handle and trigger will work just fine. Whatever you do for the repair, coat the backside with roofing tar.. I treated and coated rust under my truck 20 years ago and it's holding. And...

NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler Newport Custom 4dr Hardtop - C$2,000 - Big Valley, Alberta, Canada

Dang, if that was closer..... he'll it's worth that just for all the trim/chrome. I've got a 70 Newport custom and the Customs are rarely seen, my observation. Mine was high optioned- had just about everything you could get on it.

WANTED '70 Frame to Uni-body mounts needed

good deal! Yes, any of the hardware is going to likely be needed too and would greatly help me out! I know at least one of my plugs has deteriorated. I pulled a Red Green and made one from duct tape...

WANTED '70 Frame to Uni-body mounts needed

Deal!! Thanks. So it's just a bolt that goes all the way through? I was worried that it was a welded on nut on the top. As you can see mine are shot.

WANTED '70 Frame to Uni-body mounts needed

Replacing the front frame with an AZ donor and all 6 of the isolation mounts are completely cracked, shot or simply missing on my car. Anyone parting out a solid (probably southern) car that has usable mounts? Thanks.

    Is my 66 riding low?

It doesn't show super well in this pic, but my dad's 70 was sagging bad so a junk yard added 3 scrapped leaves. TOO MANY! over 30 years later and a ton of flaked off rust, it still is clearly riding high in the back. Your rear springs should not be flat. Those are way past prime.

i dont know what to say about this.......

If it gets wet that probably adds about 500 pounds. Of course, the ride is even better then.

    Head gasket question

So...you see the color of my car, right? That's the color of the exhaust on start up, lol :D There were pieces of the seals under the valve cover, in a pile at the back.. So my question is - how do you replace them? I have the 383.

73 FURY III parts or fix.

Awesome! I can't believe the condition of the interior. Must have been garaged 99.9% of the time! I'll be tearing into mine one day to do major work too. I have to replace the rear frame rails - got a set from an AZ donor that was parted out for other pieces. Should be an "interesting" project! lol.

73 FURY III parts or fix.

I'd be shocked if there was much if any frame damage. Sure looks like the hit was above the frame rails. There doesn't seem to be any movement on the door gaps and the exhaust runs inside the rear frame rail. It didn't clip the exhaust. Probably mostly quarter panel and trunk floor/rear pan...

383 Fuel Pump replacement - are there tricks?

First lost the acceleration, then the engine stalled. Just exactly the same as when my truck pump died. I just replaced the bits of rubber hose under the hood because I had gas smell. Filter too. All last summer. I did not replace at the tank, but then again I have no gas smell or dripping in...
