Check ETSY first for fabric and vinyl!!

Howdy fellas (and fell-ettes), it's Rich here in Tampa with a great tip. In my quest to find vinyl and fabric for my '65 New Yorker (and my quest to avoid buying from SMS), I searched the interwebs and was directed to the ETSY website, where I discovered a seller there that has a lot of NOS...

    67 Newport hard to RE-start

Hello fellas and fell-ettes, I'm having an issue with my 67 Newport 383 2bbl. It will cold start just perfectly, warm up, come off the choke and run like a dream. No running issues at highway speeds or in town. BUT, if I'm driving around and stop and shut the car off for a few minutes (or...

    Rim ID...Mopar, Buick, or......??

I have these rims in my shop, and I'm not sure if they are Mopar or GM or whatever. I figured there would be some keen observers in the group who would know. Rim A I think is a 14" Mopar rim. Lugs are 2-11/16" center-to-center. Rim B might be a Buick 15" rim. Lugs are about 2-7/8"...

    Is this interior correct?

Take a look at this really nice 6-window Town Sedan on Bring-A-Trailer.com. Is this a correct factory interior? The description says the darker vinyl is black, but it looks more like the dark turquoise used with that turquoise body color. 1965 Chrysler New Yorker Sedan

    More fender tag madness!!

Thanks to all who responded to my thread about my 67 Newport. All the info you guys provided checked out. Now, I decided to decode the tag on my 65 6-window town sedan! No real mysteries on this tag, except one: The scheduled build date reads as 609, so that would mean June 9, 1965. BUT...

    Fender Tag Decoder?

Hi gents, I can't seem to find a fender tag decoder for my 67 Newport custom. I search the interwebs, but can't find what I'm looking for. Anybody got a good site? Thanks.

C-body hub caps, can anyone ID them?

Here are some hub caps that I have in my shop. I think they are C-body, but I'm not 100% sure. Can anyone identify the model/year of these units? Thanks.

    Roadside sighting!

Here's a '63 or '64 Newport I saw sitting at a shop just north of St. Pete today. Kinda rough, but complete it would seem. AC car! And power windows!

    Re-padding front seat...how difficult??

Howdy fellas and fell-ettes, The 65 Town Sedan is doing great, after a lot of sorting through a lot of stuff. So now on to the interior....the foam on the front seat has deteriorated over the last 58 years, and while the seat cover is in good shape, the foam is all butt gone (sp...

    Exhaust fumes

Hello all, I am still trying to solve the issue of exhaust fumes in my '65 Town Sedan. The trunk floor is completely solid; all body plugs in the rear valence are in place; deck lid weatherstripping is new, and expertly installed by yours truly. I have chrome exhaust tips just past the...

    Windlace installation over doors

Hello all C-body fans, I've made my own windlace (because I'm cheap, and it's expensive, and it worked great on my 67 Newport), but I don't know how it attaches above the doors. As you see in the photo, there's a B-pillar center metal column that can be removed, and the A-pillar trim can...

    Need a Windshield

Hello all, I need a windshield for my '65 New Yorker 6-window Town Sedan. Does anyone know of a source for a new (or used) windshield for this car? The part number seems to be DW658T, T is for "tint". Classic industries offers 657T, but that it evidently for the hardtop, and not the...

    65 New Yorker has AC!

Howdy fellas and fellettes, I finally got the aftermarket AC installed in the 65 New Yorker last week, with the help of fellow forum member Dave Baro. Turns out Dave and I live just about 15 minutes from each other, and over the last couple of years we've become good friends. The car...

DO NOT USE TRICO CLASSIC WIPER BLADES

Gentlemen and ladies, I am writing to warn you NOT to use Trico Classic wiper blades on your classic C-Body. I bought a set on Amazon about a month ago, and have had occasion to use them once or twice since installing them. TODAY, during a light rain, one of the rubber blades folded over and...

    Wiper blades/refills/ Electronic fuel pump.

Howdy fellas and fell-ettes. After a great vacation in Rome and London, I'm back in Tampa. I did replace the mechanical fuel pump with an electric unit I had left over from one of the foreign cars, and it works just fine for the mighty '65 New Yorker. No issues, plenty of power, no...

    Electronic fuel pump 413?

Howdy fellas and fell-ettes, I think I traced the knocking sound coming from the 413 to the manual fuel pump. SO, I removed the AutoZone fuel pump (which pumped fuel just fine) and was getting ready to install the Advance Auto fuel pump. I realize these units may well be made in the same...

KNOCKING from the rear of the 67 Newport

Hello fellas (and fell-ettes), I've got some knocking in the rear of the "67 Newport. I got 'er up on the lift, and cinched down the rear shocks, and that helped. Funny, the shocks would not move at all by hand, but I tightened them down and that made a bit of difference. STILL, I got...
