Pitman arm - how is it named in parts manuals, was it the same from '6x to '73?

Chrysler calls the Pitman arm: Steering Arm. Torque at power steering gear is 175 foot pounds, 1970-1973 Torque at center link is 40 foot pounds, 1970-1973

    Caliper beyond repair?

I would still hone and see. The large pit on the left side of the picture could be a problem. I think the rest will clean up enough for the rubber to seal. If the piston is badly damaged that could also be a problem.

Front Disk Conversion - 63 Newport

If your 1963 Newport has front drum brakes, the 1st problem is no caliper mounts on your steering knuckles/spindles. If the 77 Monaco is a B-Body, you may be able to move the 1977 steering knuckles/spindles to the 1963 Newport. If the 77 Monaco is a C-Body, 74-78 c-body front disc brakes do...

1971 Rear Wheel Cylinder, Rubber End Caps

I appreciate the advice. I like rebuilding wheel cylinders and reusing them. I am looking for a rubber end caps (dust caps) that work with original wheel cylinders that have a flat edge, rather than the aftermarket grove and raised lip at the outer edge. I may call Craig if I don't find a...

1971 Rear Wheel Cylinder, Rubber End Caps

I am rebuilding the rear brake wheel cylinders for my 1971 Plymouth fury. I purchased NAPA rebuild kit 491. The rubber end caps are too big and will not attach to the end of the wheel cylinder. Store manager tried to help, but found nothing. I'm looking for seller and part number for a kit that...

    Shocks for 72 C body

1966 are a different size than 1972-1973 Chrysler and Plymouth. KYB rear shocks for 1972-1973 Chrysler and Plymouth c-body are discontinued. KYB still has rear shock for 1972-1973 Dodge c-body.

    Shocks for 72 C body

I have installed KYB on 1970 & 1971 Fury. The front shocks were a bear to install. Personally, I'd spend the least on front shocks and the most on new Firm Feel torsion bars. As to rear shocks, I like the KYB. @ayilar will have further advice.

    Imperial Rotors

My 1973 Dodge Monaco had different wheel bearings than my 1972 Fury. In my experiences, 1969-1972 Spindles are the same, while 1973 is one-year only. Floating brake calipers are the same 1969-1973.

Firm Feel Rebuilt Steering Gear on 1970 Fury 440/727

Sound like you have other problems besides the steering box: tie rods? Ball joints? Lots of correcting at 35mph is not my experience. My car is arrow straight at that speed. Either something else's wrong or the steering gear should be returned to Firm Feel, but I'll bet on something else wrong...

Borgeson Jeep Steer Box Upgrade - anyone done this swap yet?

I had Firm Feel rebuild my steering box to Stage II firmness. One of the best car investments for driving pleasure I have ever made. $765 for steering gear, return valve, and pitman arm. Paid on phone with VISA. Cheaper than $849 with no Pitman Arm

Labor cost for pressing axle bearings??

5 years ago the cost to press on tapered bearings for my 1970 Fury 8.75 axles was $100 at a local machine shop. Factory shop manual warns about using a torch to remove bearings because heat damages the journal area of the shaft. I also thought the machinist told me the bearings should be cold...

    Power steering failure

Because of pressure in the system, I would not use any O-ring. I'd call Firm Feel and get the right stuff. Do it right do it once.

Interested to see a picture of your adjuster. Always like to see design changes.

Interesting wear patterns on rear drums

Unless the reflection in the 1st pic is actually blue, I don't see any blue marks from extreme heat. I also don't see any cracking from heat. I think the drums can be turned.

Interesting wear patterns on rear drums

It looks like the car sat for a while and the riveted shoes started to bond to the brake drum

Police rims look great with those trim rings. What year(s) Ford Truck donated the trim rings?
