    Sport Fury GT

If you want to follow along on mine, this is the thread. 1971 Fury GT, Gold, Promo Car As others have said, it's a long process and a lot of money. Rarity 666 produced in 1970 375 produced in 1971 Probably 10-20% survival rate. GOOD LUCK!

    Stubborn upper ball joint

How do you sharpen a drill bit with a cookie wheel? Thanks

    Stubborn upper ball joint

What flap wheel do you use on torsion bars and steering knuckle? Pic? How big a gouge can be cleaned up on a torsion bar before it should be replaced? I had thought: anything bigger than a nick and the torsion bar needs to go into recycling. Thanks

    Stubborn upper ball joint

Looks like chisel marks on the side of the steering knuckle/spindle. I would not hit the knuckle any more. I just did this job 5 months ago on a 1971 Fury that had never been apart. Pickle fork and a big hammer: I needed room to create a big strike with the hammer. No short distance hammer swings.

First year's worth of Dodge ownership

My 67 Power Wagon 360, NP435, 4.10 gears would burnout nicely in first with the granny gear. Had to shift out quick or risk winding the rpms way too high. Problem was it got gallons per mile, not miles per gallon.

First year's worth of Dodge ownership

I should have said "Starting in 1960 C/D/P shared the same engines." I was thinking of c-bodies. Thanks for keeping me accurate. Speaking of compatibility, I used to work on Dodge pickups a lot. 1961-1971 had the same frames and the same engines. Plus, 4WD components could be transferred to 2WD...

First year's worth of Dodge ownership

Yes, Stellantis. Robert Eaton ended Chrysler's time as an independent publicly-traded American company when he sold out to Mercedes Benz. Iacocca picked Eaton, who promptly ruined the company Iacocca saved by selling it to Germans who treated it as a cash cow. Value when acquired $32B, value...

First year's worth of Dodge ownership

Glad you are enjoying your Chrysler! GM had different engines for different carlines. Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth all shared the same engines. I don't agree that Chrysler has less compatibility than GM. Of course, I left GM behind after behind sold an 85 Eldorado 4.1 V8 that was junk, an 86 Chevy...

    Engine performance upgrade

How does she fall flat on her face? what happens exactly? 2.5" exhaust would handle 9.0:1 compression which would be a big performance enhancement, but would require rebuilding the engine. If you press the accelerator pedal hard and the engine almost dies, I agree with carb problems...

    '74 Monaco hood release?

Not sure of your clearances or weatherstripping at front of hood, but maybe a valve spring could be clamped or strapped at the top of the radiator yoke support panel, such that when you release the hood latch, you would have pop up. In snow and ice, I've had to hit the hood with the side of my...

Like your car! I'm always glad to hear when the car is not going to be driven in a demo derby. Every time one is preserved, a small piece of American history is preserved too. Congrats on saving this one.

78 nyb brake lights stay on

Your turn signal connector may look like this under the steering column. You could try disconnecting it and making sure the lights go out. Then you'll of isolated the problem to either the turn signal switch or wiring from the brake light to the turn signal switch or from the turn signal switch...
