The paint job and putting a '61 fury back together

This might need some thinking on what's wrong with it because those for handles work in two directions. While in the car in order to lock the door, you pushed the handle forward and it would spring back to a center position, then to open the door you would pull the handle back and it would...

The paint job and putting a '61 fury back together

Looking beautiful. Can't wait to see it completed. For the radio, I'd have it yours converted to Bluetooth/usb. It'll look exactly the same but then you could link it to your phone and use Pandora or IHeart radio, or thumb drive etc. There are all kinds of companies that do that conversation...

Notable Forward Look Plymouth - Sold for $43K and Worth It

Drop it already. If you like them go for it. I'm not gonna waste my time looking up another skirted. Forward Look car. I think they're ugly and don't belong there. And that goes for ALL forward look finned cars. Not just the Fury's. Cheers:thumbsup:

Notable Forward Look Plymouth - Sold for $43K and Worth It

Re-read what I posted.... it was a sign of the times, they don't belong there. IMHO. If they looked good there would've been a box to be checked on the order form from the factory. Thank God the designers new more about what makes a car look good than you or I. Like those abomination...

Notable Forward Look Plymouth - Sold for $43K and Worth It

@furyfrank I'm sorry Frank, even if you think they were a factory option, which they weren't, they're still ugly as hell. The flare on the fender proves it. Any car that would've been designed to have skirts would've had the fender smooth above the rear axle, not flared out. This proves they...

Notable Forward Look Plymouth - Sold for $43K and Worth It

Sorry Stan, but those skirts are horrible. They were all aftermarket and don't belong on any forward look cars. I believe they weren't even a factory option. I had a set for my '59, I put them on just long enough to run back and take them off! If you notice the fenders above the wheel wells have...

changing from 6V to 12V system... any tips?

I just looked at a '55 Belvidere. 6V POSITIVE ground. If leave it as is and save yourself tons of trouble. If maintained well the 6V will serve you well. Just putting it out there. Don't shoot the messenger.

changing from 6V to 12V system... any tips?

Seems like an awful lot of work. Not to mention the power steering issue. Is there something wrong with the system the way it is? Are you going to use it as a daily? If it's working as is, I'd leave it alone, but that's just me.
