Sorry I'm late to the thread, congrats on your successful repair. Just wanted to share this tip for installing doors that I found here on the forum...I believe this is @bigmoparjeff 's idea and he shared the pic? The ability to tilt the door with the load leveler is great!

The offending screw. Actually had to remove and transfer one from a spare mirror, as the mirror I'm using was missing it all together. So thankfull I was able to get it loose without stripping it, what a pain in the butt!

Nevermind l got it...just need the proper screwdriver and lots of luck

I've looked through my chassis FSM and searched this forum...is there a release mechanism that I'm not seeing, or do I have to custom bend some screwdrivers to get to the Phillips head screws behind the actual mirror glass? What I'm actually trying to achieve, is to get down to the bottom screw...
