Didn't the fire issue pertain to the first couple models that were built with the iron duke? IIRC they cured that fatal flaw in the later models and it wasn't a problem with the V6 editions.

Definitely prefer it without the vinyl. It doesn't seem like much of a stripper model anymore. A/C, console, tilt, cruise control, PW...those are good options. Seems like a fair deal if the engine and trans are truly as strong as the seller claims...if you want it, I think you should buy it!

Daytonas can be a little tricky to get in and out of if you're tall. But they are comfortable once inside. The 2.5 turbo engine is very reliable and if you need parts they are generally super cheap from Rockauto. Currently I use a red 92 model that was saved from being scrapped as a winter...

Without doing any research, it looks like the same engine as the non turbocharged Stealth R/T and 3000GT, with the exception that it's installed 180 degrees opposite. If so, those engines have always been good to me, 225hp from the factory. I think the valve guide oil consumption was an issue...

Over the years I've owned 3 different R/Ts, mainly because they had some sort of issue and were cheap. The non turbo DOHC 3.0 puts down 225hp...fun cars and reliable once the known problem areas are remedied.

Kinda an oddball with the TI turbo/5 speed...basically a 2.5 non-intercooled engine...usually the 5 speeds were TII cars, 2.2 intercooled. Nice car regardless
