Another small update. Chuck just sent me these pics of the restored Belt Trim. This brings the aluminum restoration phase to a close. This gentleman does absolutely meticulous work on aluminum.... They'll be here about the time I return home from a short visit with the next owner of this car-my...

Actually this was a painted set from a non sport fury. They were identical except not chrome. Thought we'd do an experiment and it worked out pretty good. Just a warning tho, I'm told the process can ruin a piece of pot metal so you have to have a backup plan. And no Rip, it wasn't pitted.

Another day in the life of an old car enthusiast…. Spent the evening removing these seats from the red vert parts car. With three sets of seats, I think I finally have a full set of undamaged aluminum trim for the seats to send to the aluminum restorer since he's almost done with the belt trim...

Chuck just sent me this pic along with a note saying he has all the bottom pieces of belt trim and the two "C's" back from the anodizer! Just starting on the top pieces. Then we get the accent paint and send those babies home to me.... In the meantime, the car is still at the performance shop...

Been pretty busy with the move to the farm, setting up the chicken house, and rewiring/insulating the garage. I did notice I forgot to upload the finished pic of the front end dismantled. Hopefully we'll have more to post in the near future......

Finally able to get some update pics. Got everything under the hood removed and trying to clean up the years of paint layers while searching for parts. This is going to be nice when we get it back together.

So in the midst of moving and getting the farm ready we've decided to add a little more to the project. Pretty much everything under the hood has been dismantled-brake master cylinder, break lines, front suspension, shocks, and steering column. All to be rebuilt and most likely a new upgrade to...

Rough morning trying to load this nearly complete engine in the trailer by myself. But with a little help from the ole cable come along I was able to make it happen. Dropped it off and the pouring rain started 10 minutes later-Whew......

Well there goes the neighborhood!

OK another update. Since we are now in the process of transferring the hoard to the farm from the small house, I've made the decision to try and minimize moving the car around without power. This weekend I'll be moving the car, the nearly complete engine, and the tranny to a local Mopar...

Man I love this car! Something about a 66.....

Don't want folks to think I'm a quitter on the car. Just got word that we close on the little farm this Friday!!! A month or so to relocate 8 years of hoarding and I'll be back on the car-Man this is killin me....

So I've looked around for a good bit and I'm not having much luck on locating gaskets for the tail lights on the 66 SF. Anyone have a source? Every time it rains the turn down portion of my trunk lid fills up with water and I'm sure the culprit is my tail lights.

Not trying to hijack my own thread, but It looks like I may have a second restoration project in my future......
