    I put gaskets in place, a Phillips head screw driver on both of the bolt holes mid way up the cover, push down on one side and start the bolt in the bottom hole. Then the same on other side, and start the other bolts using the screw driver to line up the holes if necessary on the rest.

    That looks like the small TRW pump, the saginaw pump had a oval filler, and the Thompson Federal 1.06 is the larger pump. My kit for the 1.06 should arrive tomorrow, since I was doing it I'm replacing the O ring seals for the reservoir and painting the unit as it wasn't sure it was the shaft...

    Drive shaft Don't slide the drive shaft to far, the rust on the yoke can damage the seal on the rear of the trans. If it goes to far run some fine emery cloth around the inside in a circular motion to fix.
