On some, you have to remove the lens and the socket is part of the housing and you give it a little twist and it pops out. If your tail lamps have screws, this is the way to change the bulb.

My understanding is that 4-pin ignition modules ground through the case so look at a wiring diagram for the ignition module.

You may have to glue the nut on. Where did you buy the ignition module and what brand is it?

The screw needs to be lined up perfectly and backed out when putting the plug over the the prongs. Make sure that the plug is clean and you may need a little spit on the inside of the plug. If the plug is hard, it may no longer be pliable enough to fit on correctly. Good luck.

There is an adjustable switch on the bottom of the steering column. They are finicky.

Perhaps a bad gauge voltage limiter.
