My advice is to leave it alone if it isn't rotted and is solid. There is no access from the top. If it really bothers you, weld a plate on and do your best to grind down the welds and make it look better.

What are you trying to communicate with your links? Only certain 440 cars got the open air cleaners in 1968 and the dual snorkel air cleaner was usually an option. '68 Chryslers, for example, never had an open element air cleaner.

FYI, that is a non-pie tin air cleaner. Correct for '68 383-4 BBL cars.

Have you considered using a small diameter base that is of a drop down style. You want a base that is the same diameter as the air filter. I have used them on two of my cars. Mancini and others have them.

Ray, As you know, these cars are expensive to repair. If this car has a lot of parts that are needed to save 2 of your other cars, then I would say part it out. Good luck with your decision.

The only sheet metal that is worth buying are the trunk floor pieces and the floor pieces. The aftermarket half quarter panels are not formed correctly and the gauge of the steel is to thin. It takes a very good body man to make those work. Depending on what you are looking for, you may need...

In my experience with 1968 Fury’s, both are correct as Chrysler used 2 different vendors for drum brake master cylinders.

The problem is that he didn’t cut holes in the vinyl so my dashpad looks like a regular dashpad.

The vinyl & foam can be carefully cut. You can see in a photo that the metal speaker grilles wet sent to him and he painted them to match the dash pad. The factory did not cover the speaker holes below the grilles.

Yes, the speaker holes are stamped into the metal frame so there’s only vinyl covering the holes. My concern is cutting the vinyl and gluing it in place on the bottom and hoping that the vinyl cuts don’t grow and become visible if the dash pad shrinks.
