Worthy upgrade over an existing aluminum radiator?

That seems like a decent test method. I still would try a static friction test after spinning it up. You're right that the clutch fluid requires some centripetal acceleration to distribute it. It still might be interesting to try a static friction test after spinning and warming it up. Alas...

Worthy upgrade over an existing aluminum radiator?

A Simple Lab Test of A Thermal Fan Clutch You can check how well the thermal clutch works by mounting it statically, then hanging some fixed weights off the very end of one fan blade which starts parallel with the ground. Note how much weight is required to move the fan blade. Multiply this...

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

You might try their MOP751A for a full 18" height. That should bolt up on a 65 C body which came w a 22" radiator to start with. The only difference between that one and what I had in mine is where the upper hose is situated. On my old one, its all thge way over to the right, while on the...

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

Noooo, it was NOT the teflon tape, it was the RUBBER O-RING that slid forward, blocking the 2 little drain holes on the cock. I replaced it w a SOLID BRASS VALVE with NO O-ring at all. $4.99 fr Ace hardware. Implement this change for future customers please.

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

FYI, the petcock isn't draining at all. I'll replace it, and hope this was a rare statistical fluke with the brand(s) you use. I see its a 1/4" NPT sort, which makes it easy to replace anyway.... The Almanac warns of a cooler than normal winter down here, so I might want a bit more...

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

I can dig why a man of such impeccable good taste WOULD want to paint an Al radiator, but for my purposes I like the shiny bare metal, which does radiate heat somewhat more efficiently than a black (heat absorbing) surface does. I like the idea of a column of possible cage nuts or such, rather...

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

My pleasure to be of service! I now need to contrive a good method for attaching the shroud I obtained last summer. Your shroud flange actually gets in the way of the old style brackets, BUT I think I see how I can easily attach the shroud to the flange if I eliminate the brackets, using a...

My pleasure Sir! Any chance I get to enlarge the practical Mopar Lore for this century, I happily take. Later this month, I hope to devise a good scheme for attaching my shroud. or A shroud suited to this setup.

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

Performance Update: I took Tilly through about 11 miles of rush hour, bumper to bumper traffic with the ambient temperature around 102 F this afternoon. Temperature NEVER exceeded 205 F and as soon as I could run unstopped for 60 seconds, it would drop back to ~ 190 F, which seems to be where...

Fitment & performance Trial on MOP753A Radiator on 1966 Chrysler Newport

Good show then! Yes, DO combine the 18 inch core of the MOP751A with the tanks of the MOP753A and you WILL have a REAL WINNER for mid-60s C-body MoPars! I chose the 753A because it was the CLOSEST of your product line to my needs, but I expect a bit of added volume and surface area will only...
