Sounds like it's time to drop the oil pan to see if you can get to it from the bottom (and hope it's already in the oil pan).

The accelerator pump on the Stromberg 2bbl carb on my 66 poly 318 Sport Fury is sticking in the up position. I tried installing a new one but have the same trouble. A stronger spring likely won't make a difference as it seems to take some effort to push it down. A buddy had the exact same issue...
