The whole purpose of this question was/is to try and get "BETTER" MPG. car had 2.92 or 2.76 gears OE[ have to look for sure] Has 3.23 now. Was thinking if I put a gear vender in and changed gears to 3.92 range, I could have "fun" when I wanted and better MPG crusing???

Has anyone tried putting a modern day automatic trans in there c body? Or is it better to go with overdrive?

Yes one vents above rear end the other goes up into trunk then back down into frame fail

Yes runs fine, vent lines blow free. Hose barbs blow back into tank. Cap new, not vented(old one wasn't either)

I drove it saturday to the AW for rootbeer, 1/4 tank of gas, 77 degrees out. 10 min after parked i could smell gas 100 feet away. slite pressure in tank. got home[30 miles] same thing. where is...

the smell has always been outside or under hood. got under hood smell taken care of. rest is outside car when its parked

those 2 vents were covered from the factory and they went bad. It was leaking gas on the ground from them. Put new covers on them an still have the smell outside the car and pressure in the tank

blew air though vent lines and into tank. there are two other holes coming out of tank that are capped. I assumed they were maybe for fuel return if needed??? Its a quanta tank. Were the oe gas caps vented??? Drove it yesterday, sat in the shade when I parked for 30 min, got home 1/4 tank gone...

with new cap on and both vent lines open I still get pressure in the tank???
