    Queer car

There's an old saying - Act in haste, repent at leisure. Save up and do it right, at least the car is OK, not wrecked, all the best with her when funds allow the proper repairs.

Fuel Line Heat Shield and Cozplay

According to crayola's safety website do not use to make any objects put near to a heat source etc. So it may not be a good idea - be a shame to lose your car if the fuel lines began to leak and affected the product you used. Source, crayola website craft safety.

    Installation Issues for Hemi Transplant

It's probably way too far from you, but the V8 Speed and Resto shop in Red Bud Illinois have a great reputation and have done everything from a Classic restoration to modern engine, suspension and brake upgrades to older cars like yours. Kevin and Kelle Oeste the owners are involved with the...

My engine is being a jerk!

I would think the "power/pressure" aspect refers to the "effort" required to "purge and replace" the transmission fluid by the machine compared to draining and removing the pan and refilling via a funnel. Reading the factory service manual made me wonder whether, having "flushed" any remaining...

My engine is being a jerk!

As tallhair mentioned - a transmission is likely to have bits of band friction material etc which won't affect its operation, but power flushing will likely move it somewhere it could/will interfere with smooth operation. Please don't risk your (probably expensive) Phaeton transmission, just...

    1977 440 Redline?

Personally, I'd make your car the best she can be like she was when she left the factory. Considering she's a luxury car weighing around 4683 pounds she'll never be a "hot rod" - let your friends have the hot cars whilst you have the luxurious one. I wish you many miles of happy motoring once...

Metal In Engine After Cam Break In

Whatever you call it, there shouldn't be any inside the engine. Hope it turns out ok.

    timing chain cover saga, revisited...

It's not crazy to mount it to seal the front of the engine and protect those components from damage during storage, BUT it is (probably) crazy to mount a warped cover and expect to be able to seal it. Put a new one on next year when preparing the car for use. Best wishes for future happy motoring.

Strange liquid sound after engine is turned off

A suggestion- why not install an coolant overflow bottle system like moderm cars, never lose coolant that way, but do what the guys suggest and get the system sorted out first.

    Tick/clatter at idle

Perhaps you had a temporary fuel starvation issue, then too much when the blockage cleared before returning to normal, else there's some @!$% in the tank which blocks the fuel pump, and clears again. I wish you happy motoring again once this issue is resolved.

    Need some engine advice

Lol, I was considering it like those who buy a 5500 pound car and want to know how to make it faster. I wish him well with his car.

    Need some engine advice

Also remember these cars are large and heavy and will never perform like a sports car no matter how much money is spent on whatever modifications someone chooses to make. We wish you happy motoring when she's back on the road.

I’ve got a sinking feeling...... ELB TQ

I wish you an easily detected and corrected issue. Otherwise would it be necessary to pull the engine for strip down, checking and repair, and reassembly like you've seemingly done with everything else? Considering the unexpected surprises like the cracked carb, there may be similar surprises...

I’ve got a sinking feeling...... ELB TQ

Well done Javier, I imagine you'd rebuild a Sure-brake abs system if you had a car with one- shouldn't be a reason why the old stuff can't operate correctly considering 40+ years to discover both faults and solutions to correct them. Wishing you continuing success.
