    Autotemp 2 upgrade

When I was having Lee, my (former) 73,sorted out, I was advised of the Performance Analysis company and whatever was required was sourced from them. I presume (new owner) Doc McNeedy can say the system is working.

    1964 300K w/AC heater core replacement

Have you tried Ohio vendor Murray B Park www.cbodies.com. Murray has lots of Mopars and may have what you need, otherwise can yours be repaired? Seem to recall reading that someone (maybe not a mopar vehicle) did theirs but it was fiddly. If not too bad radiator shops have been known to do...

ALUMINIUM RADIATOR (Plus a Long Boring Rant)

On rereading your post, I note you intend to rebuild the suspension. Be aware that Chrysler Corporation vehicles ARE different to what Ford and GM and others did back then. Rebuild your suspension AS IT WAS DESIGNED AND INTENDED TO BE and you'll be fine, lots of folks intend doing wonders but...

ALUMINIUM RADIATOR (Plus a Long Boring Rant)

Also consider that your car is 51 years old and the technology related to metallurgy and coolants and lubricants and fuels has changed for the better over the years. Probably the major concern for engines is the reduction in the amount of Zinc (ZDDP) in oils which WILL affect engines with flat...

ALUMINIUM RADIATOR (Plus a Long Boring Rant)

If that were true, aluminum radiators wouldn't be offered for sale. I would suggest that corrosion is dependent upon the coolant used. Use the correct one, and you'll be fine. Also consider the engines/motors with steel blocks and aluminum heads, must be millions of them, they wouldn't be made...

    71 Imperial 4dr A/C (repair or replace?)

You won't be able to get a build sheet from FCA historical as they have nothing after 1967 unfortunately, seem to recall those records were lost years ago when the records were moved. Perhaps one is under one of the seats or on top of the glove box where assembly workers often stuffed them once...

    71 Imperial 4dr A/C (repair or replace?)

In relation to the horn, it's probably a rim-blow horn which has long since expired. Doc can send you a photo of what was done to Lee, his white one, formerly mine, but basically a white button was installed to the left of the steering wheel which you bump (lift knee up);with your knee and it...

    71 Imperial 4dr A/C (repair or replace?)

@crv is from my old state of South Australia, not (yet anyway) New Zealand. I can't wait to see his imperial once on the road, should be great.

    71 Imperial 4dr A/C (repair or replace?)

I just sold my 73 imperial LeBaron to Doc McNeedy, it also has the ATC Ii (early version of automatic climate control) and I had my repairers in Wisconsin go through it and sort it out so all works as it should. Doc has the testing device used when repairing such systems, and another member...

    AC Disconnect / Removal

First step is to discover if there is any gas in it and if so, have an air conditioning shop remove it, don't vent into the atmosphere.

Removing Evap/Heat Box from 1970 300--What's blocking it?

Seems just as well you removed it, get it sorted then reinstall happy that all the !@#$ has been removed. Randy and his staff pulled the dash out of Lee- doc's new 73 imperial to get it all sorted, quite a job I believe, but at least any/all concerns have been fixed. Happy motoring when yours...

Removing/replacing the heater unit on 68 fury

As the old saying goes - If it works don't fix it - You'd replace it if/when it begins to leak.

Auto temp II not working properly

I suppose its almost impossible to locate a functional diagnostic device today? Just wondering whether it'd be worth shipping one down with the car.

Auto temp II not working properly

Try calling George Murphy at Performance Analysis company in TN (Phone/Fax 865-482-9175) - he has experience in these units and should be able to advise you how to proceed- after which everyone with faulty ATC units will beat a path to your door. Lol Fellow forum member 73 T&C (Javier) has a...

AutoTemp II - where do I begin?

You could also message 73 T&C who has just fixed his 1978 unit. Forum thread: what I learned about 74-78 ATC II Good luck sorting yours out.

    Auto temp conversion info needed

It shouldn't be too difficult to get the auto temp going if it's not working, admittedly it's a complicated system but folks know how to repair it. I suspect it'd be quite a hassle to change over to manual but those who know will offer their advice and experience. Hope you can get the car.

    Coolant all over the top?

    Ok, good luck.
  20. LeBaron1973

    Coolant all over the top?

Maybe a head gasket leak? Probably hard to detect at idle, but as you're driving, naturally the coolant heats up and turns to steam (I think that's right, those who know better will comment) and it could/would escape through the damaged gasket and condense on the cooler surfaces inside the...
