That’s got to be a bit wider than my 72 It looks like the bumper surrounds the the edge of those fender corners what ever proper name of those are. What a rear bumper! I’ve been paying too much attention to the front ends.

I love the 4 door hardtops with the windows down because you still get that look & im also not a big fan of 500lb doors. A 72 IMP will make nearly any color stunning.

I certainly wouldn’t mind a 72 imp interior in my 72 base royal. I’d just have to worry about making sure it’s in park before taking a nap. Lol

Wish there was yards like that In my neck of the woods. A couple I remember but long gone now. Most. Of the old timers up this way scraped cars to pay property taxes when it got tight a few years back. Amazing they survived the scrap price increase of all those desert wars. Although taxes are...

Is this a new tv show like life after people? Life after mopar lovers? Scary stuff. Got a hunch those trees were not there when those cars were placed there. They were probably only guilty of burning oil & having rusting rears at the time. It’s cool they were collected but far beyond repair on...

My first car came with studded snow tires in the trunk just like the one in the pic! Lol that’s going back quite a bit.

I agree with the flower car theory but why the green color? That’s a head scratcher. Probably can fit fit 4x8 sheets from Home Depot in there !

Couple summers ago on the road for work I saw a bronze/brown interior 72 imp. Totally original Cherry only missing a small piece of trim. Took a ton of pics on my old phone lost all my pics! What a car! Comparing that to my Newport is like comparing South Dakota class battleships to Iowa class...

I doubt they were worried our big cars. It was probably because they were starting to share more of the road with the tin can gas crunch alternatives that were starting to litter the streets & highways.

So it looks to me like the 73s were a bit overkill with the bumper rubber to conform with the collision guidelines. Because it looks like the formals didn’t have too much rubber. Anyone have a theory?

Haha! Most folks are pretty good with mine. Just off a year or two. The big cursive Newport emblem on the front probably helps a lot. Lol

They are today cherished or in too degraded state for derby guys. It’s easier just to yank the glass out of a crown Vic. Lots of Uber & lyft drivers putting cab companies out of work. Keep using the crown Vic’s!

An old boss of min who recently passed had a great story of driving around a rotary in the late 70s in his 73 New Yorker. Some sorry *** in a brand new Datsun B210 edged out far enough to dig a bit into his rear quarter until the bumpers locked up. And that was the end of the Datsun. Nearly tore...

Probably 7 slabs & 3 formals for every 1 fuselage around here. Think the slabs are more popular with the old timers & their boomer children that have great childhood memory’s in them. Fuselage & formal owners get younger old folks tell them about getting lucky or really ****** up for the first...

Nice imp. The 72s & 3s look so massive! Am I missing something here about the derby guys ? Maybe it’s my innocent ignorance because I’m from the New England area because I haven’t seen a c body of any kind for about 20 years now in a derby in my neck of the woods, With one exception of a...
