    413 Backfires

My '59 Imperial did that while driving home from a car show several years ago and blew up my mufflers. It turns out to be the condenser which was defective. I replaced it and have not had a problem since.

    1962 Chrysler 300 Sport 383 3-speed transmission question

You are correct on first gear only. My car has no P.S. or P.B. nor outside rearview mirrors (I added two). For options, 413, sure-grip, AM radio, leather interior with black cloth inserts. I had concerns about the white top color seeing factory promo cars having a black top with a red exterior...

    1962 Chrysler 300 Sport 383 3-speed transmission question

I own a '62 300 Sport Convertible with a 3-speed manual transmission. I would have to double-check but I believe you are correct on it being a T-85. I do remember that the PontaMason (SP) failed a lot for 60 and 61 so Chrysler gave them a truck transmission. It is a non-synchro unit. Mine has...

    Van’s Auto gas tank

I also know Duane and Tom (co-owners) and was there last week to get an Emergency brake level from a parts car for my '62 300. I did not get a fuel tank but a sending unit for my '70 Fury III ex-squad a few years ago. Nothing negative to say.

    1963 Chrysler 727

You will also need the car on a hoist or off the ground with a knowledgeable person inside working the pushbutton and the other with the cable adjusting it accordingly.

...in my Chrysler, it's as big as a whale........

Just in case.....my '59 Imperial did that but expanded two mufflers. We found that the "condenser" went bad and was replaced. If your car has points keep that in mind. That happened about six years ago and not acted up since. My mufflers were replaced by my local custom exhaust shop.

Look at this website although I'm not suggesting these plugs as I run Autolite but the condition pictures and description remain the same. How do I "read" a spark plug? | NGK Spark Plugs

Lets assume you checked for spark and removed the fuel line from carb and fuel pump is working. Then I would look at the carb. was it ever rebuilt? my '59 Imperial would intermittently not start, what we found was the accelerator pump was not big enough for its housing and would not call for...
