Double Doofus - Air conditioning on a 69 Fury III vert

I can't help myself from making this comment. I admire the workmanship and dedication that's going into this problem, and I don't want to distract from the subject, but I thought the doofus part was about having airco in a convertible anyway. Lots of heating should be enough. So ... what's the...

Looking for the name of a part, and for the part itself! (74 Fury)

Alas, the pictures do not show my car, but one I was prospecting to buy some years ago. I have an H51 installation on mine. Maybe owners of 1974 Fury police cars can help.

On your side of the ocean police cars and Canada spec cars are the most likely candidates for H41 installations. Maybe their configuration could offer a clue. Here are some pictures of the 1975 export Gran Fury with H41: Hey, presto: Plugs! The rebuild process:

Looking for the name of a part, and for the part itself! (74 Fury)

H41 Strato-Ventilation was standard, whereas H51 and H53 were optional features. Going by the 1974 Operator's Manual, the handle for the four-speed blower is the same on H41 and H51, so maybe the blower itself also? As there are no plugs going with Seb's H41 installation, international specs...

Looking for the name of a part, and for the part itself! (74 Fury)

Yes, extremely interesting: H41 Strato-Ventilation (so no A/C) in combination with P31 Power Windows must surely be a peculiarity of export cars for Europe, cfr. this tag for a 1975 export Gran Fury Brougham, probably also sold new in France: Your tag is also the first confirmation of the...

The fender tag that goes with those international specs would sure be interesting to see!

@Seb'74 Sébastien! Are you alright/Est-ce que tu vas bien? France is also having her share of trouble.

Then what does your tag say where the above PH41 tag has "A16"?

Air blower removal issue (74 Fury Gran Sedan)

That tag must be what they call a "plaque constructeur" or "plaque d'indentification" in French classic car circles. This is probably from a pre-1969 Coronet station wagon, as it seems to read WH45: And for a 1975 Gran Fury that was exported to Switzerland: In the absence of a door...

Air blower removal issue (74 Fury Gran Sedan)

Thanks for the VIN! I alway suspected Newark-built cars got exported to Europe, but this is my first confirmed case (uh-oh wrong terminology!). If you find a door sticker like this: you will know the exact day your car was completed. Mine, for instance, was built October 20 (the first four...

I'm sooo curious to know the last six digits of your VIN. If you could share it, that would be very much appreciated!
