When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

@69CoronetRT: Just great! Looking again at the fender tag I'm not so shure any more how to read the first digit of the SPD. Comparing it to other 5's and 6's on the tag, I still think 5 is the more likely answer, though. The broadcast sheet or the window sticker could settle this matter. The...

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

78 NYB w/ 4k miles not for sale

With the high VIN I would really like to add the car to the Late C-Bodies List. But I'd need pictures of the fender tag and the doorsticker.

78 NYB w/ 4k miles not for sale

It sure would make the list, but I need the fender tag and/or door sticker to be sure. I don't do Facebook either. For now I jotted this down in my off-line list.

My first Formal 1975 Gran Custom 2 door hardtop

Finally somebody who mentions styling! When you look up Elwood Engel, you can mostly read about his work on Sixties models, whereas the Formal C-bodies are almost never mentioned. Or should I omit "almost" and just say "are never mentioned"? Among Elwood's Formals, already suffering from being...

My first Formal 1975 Gran Custom 2 door hardtop

According to Godshall's article in Collectible Automobile, April 2012, the total production number for the 1975 Custom 2-door Hardtop Coupe was 6,041. @commando1: For 1975 the Gran Fury Custom came as a 2-door hardtop, a 4-door hardtop, a 4-door sedan and 2 and 3-row Suburbans. It was the...

    78 sunroof Newport ? ever seen 1 ?

Yet the car has some special items. A 440 cid engine, taken together with J67 Tr/Tow Wiring Harness N75 Auxiliary Oil Cooler point to the Heavy-Duty Trailer-Assist Package. The add-on sunroof and the cornering lights make this a luxury vacation boat.

    78 sunroof Newport ? ever seen 1 ?

And I don't see M51 for a Power Sun Roof on the fender tag.

Post a pic of the fender tag so we can start looking for more rare options.

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

This page at the 1970 Hamtramck Registry shows W11 wheel covers. I'm afraid you lost your points when you put the Royal Monaco front on a low-option Monaco. The essence of irony!

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

I keep being amazed by the low amount of options on this car. I could only find: E63 400 cid Engine R11 AM radio U36 White Sidewall Tyres V5X Molding Body Side w/Vinyl Insert, Black W11 Deluxe Wheel Covers No dealer would have wanted something like that in his inventory. Even rental cars were...

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

Very good! As the start of MDH I read 1121, but I can only guess about the last two digits. Can you read them? So the car has a rather uneventful assembly history: scheduled for November 15, built on November 21.

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

As a matter of fact, yes! The body paint and roof paint codes on the fender tag are KB5, which translates as Lucerne Blue Metallic. In the pics your car has quite a different color. The codes on the fender tag match those on the broadcast sheet, as far as I can tell. A small part of the...

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

@74monacoHT Here's what I could find. Notably, the Lights section does not contain a single code, which I find a bit odd. Then you have the remark "Test Drive", which may have to do with this car being an early build. J91 Instrument Panel - Type 1 may be in connection with H41 Upper Level...

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

Exactly my kind of car! I'll get around to your broadcast sheet later, it's all spare time work. Taking a look at the 1977 Chryco Sales Codes List will keep you busy in the meantime.

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

For a start, it has a very early Scheduled Production Date, 815. Could you post a pic of the doorsticker with the full VIN and MDH?

Broadcast sheet for my 1975 Royal Monaco

Below you'll find an explanation of the sales codes in lines 8-13. I took them from 1974 documentation, except for the ones followed by (1977), that are, of course, from the 1977 Chryco Sales Codes List. Codes L73 and N37 must have been new for 1975. I drew a blank on code B27, but maybe...
