I believe it was for finer heat/cooling control. There's a valve between the two heat cores that shuts when you turn on the A/C, so only half the core has any chance at heating and the variable control valve I think is supposed to control how much it gets so you don't necessarily have only cool...

Should be a dual heater core with AC.

I gave Jim at DMT a sample of the rubber cushions for that shroud, (including a bottom part of the shroud), at a show a couple years ago. Haven't checked if he's producing them yet though.

Gears are easy, maybe a 3.23 for off the line oomph yet highway friendly. The converter issue is harder as the input splines on the 65 transmission are different than later ones and ...... you guessed it........ they don't make many options for the earlier ones. Of course you can rebuild...

Just thought I'd throw this out for fun, these represent a 65 Monaco that will never see the road again, (at least by itself). Maybe if anyone else has some to add?

Only speculation here, but I'd think the 4D HT whisker strips would be a bit longer than those for a 4D Sedan - there's a vertical door frame on each end of the window opening so the HT should have a larger window and a larger opening would follow. Not that you couldn't maybe cut a couple...
