The Amp gauge goes back and forth between C and D, sometimes pretty fast. Sometimes it is steady on idle but not always. Movement slows down if I turn on the lights. I installed a new alternator, tried two different used voltage regulators and the amp gauge has been calibrated. Any ideas...

I got the headlight switch out. Who works on those switches? I can't find the backup light switch. No power at the light bulb even with a direct ground from the battery, so it must be the switch.
