How do I remove water pump housing?

Been there done that, @Big_John ? Wisdom comes from experience they say.

Not sure where to post this - Auto Pilot cable question.

I don't believe so, but it depends on the servo - the speedo end is bigger than the end that goes into the original servo. Your servo is a later one of some description, so I don't know what it has. Here's a link to an original upper speedo cable for an Autopilot equipped 65 and 66 Chrysler...

    Lifter noise at start up

That's not the first time I've heard that tip.

    Lifter noise at start up

I assume you set the choke by depressing the gas pedal prior to cold startup, which of course would have the car start more quickly. I expect the oil pump is losing its prime. The oil system could benefit from a few low speed/low effort rotations before the engine stars to help prime the pump...

1966 727 Neutral Safety Switch replacement

    Hmmm - I don't remember what I paid. I don't think I was gouged, but I don't really have any comparison...

1966 727 Neutral Safety Switch replacement

I'm not sure I understand the question... but perhaps you're asking what's available for replacement.... I found NOS, but even aftermarket NSSs were hard to find. In 67 they switched to the 3 pin NSS which you can find easily, but up to 66 they were the single pin version. Thread depth was...

1966 727 Neutral Safety Switch replacement

Thanks John - I figured on all of the above, but just wanted confirmation. Cheers!

1966 727 Neutral Safety Switch replacement

The NSS on my wagon has been acting up, and I finally had to resort to grounding it out, which of course is not the safest thing. I sourced a correct NOS replacement (it was actually kind of hard to find), but I thought I'd ask a few questions here before I go ahead and swap it out. 1) It...

    1966 383 Water Pump Numbers

I just came across this, which might help:

    1966 383 Water Pump Numbers

2843 290 is the number cast into the water pump on mine. It's genuine Mopar as indicated by the pentastar above the number, but the number indicates it is a later model year version, most likely 67 or 68. I looked in my 67, 68 and 69 catalogues, and nothing comes up for that number. The...

    1966 383 Water Pump Numbers

Sometimes the part number and the casting number are the same but in this case I don't think so - see my post below. Once you do find the correct casting, keep in mind that there will be a date code cast into the pump too - it should be a date that is prior to the engine assembly date which...

    Gas Tank Sender Gasket......Sealer??

Following - my wagon's tank recently leaked at the sender, then all of a sudden stopped - and has remained dry ever since. I have the new sender gasket, but never installed it. I figured best leave well enough alone!

Canadian 383s in the mid 60s

Call Nigel Mills at National Moparts in Beaverton ON Canada and buy them from him. He'll know the correct parts - make sure he knows that it's a Canadian car 1-888-652-7464

    65 300 383

Canadian engines were red. Most likely yours was assembled in Windsor, ON. Canadian car distributors are different, and take a different point set. Order a set of points for a Chrysler-built distributor rather than a Prestolite. A good local parts store should be able to get the correct Blue...

    Carburetor for 1966 383

@Gerald Morris said: Even if your work on the sheetmetal is good, be aware that body sheetmetal isn't necessarily a good grounding path. Make a bonding jumper as suggested. I agree. I had a recurrent Vreg ground issue that I fixed by running a ground wire direct to the battery.

    Sure-Grip lube

I had to renew/replace the fluid in the wagon's Suregrip, and although I specified Mopar additive, the mechanic installed a "no additive required" fluid and said I wouldn't need it. Unsatisfactory. Chattered on every turn. Added the Mopar Suregrip additive and the problem went away...
