Uppers should be threaded. There are special sockets to remove them.

They look like the shoes on my 66 Chevrolet Biscayne and the rear shoes are P/N 227. I just did 4 wheel brakes lol.

If the bolt is out, it should be unloaded. Strike the anchor to shock it loose.

I have always done all the steps you said you did. Be sure the torsion bar is unloaded. If you suspect it is stuck in the anchor, hit the anchor with a hammer to "shock" it loose. Be sure the bar is protected from the teeth of the vice grip with a rag.

Considering it is a hardtop with a vinyl roof, the whitewalls with road wheels look best (in my opinion).

I wouldn't discount the wave washer. It is there for a reason. I don't know exactly why but having been a dealership mechanic I don't deviate from original design. The last few brake spring kits I bought have included that washer. Plus, I have a box with all sorts of miscellaneous hardware I...

The satin black matched the finish on the part of the wheel inside the tire so I went with that. 2 coats so far...looks great!

Thank you but I don't think Chrysler used the "small" hub cap until 1968 and they weren't 15" wheels. 69 they did with a 15" wheel.
