NOT MINE 1971 Fury 1 Slant 6 Manual Transmission 8,500.00

Yes, although I still have possession of the car it is soon shipping to Florida. I have since put the engine in and am in the final stages of buttoning up others items that needed attention. The ad was supposed to have been removed from WPC news

    NOT MINE 1968 Plymouth Fury I 4dr 383 4bbl Commando

My thoughts were that Chrysler used the "clip" wheels for 15" applications after going to 14" wheels in 1957. I didn't recall seeing 15" wheels prior to 1969 when the 15" wheel returned to the full size cars. It is interesting to see postings of the 15" wheel for Hemi cars with "bumps". I think...

    NOT MINE 1968 Plymouth Fury I 4dr 383 4bbl Commando

I think the disc brake cars used that wheel even if it wasn't a package car. Those wheels are 15" and Chrysler didn't offer 15" wheels with the "bumps" to hold the hub caps until 1969. We didn't use disc brakes until 1973. There were variations depending on the year. Seems Chrysler offered the...

    NOT MINE 1968 Plymouth Fury I 4dr 383 4bbl Commando

My agency seemed to alternate use of the Police wheel from 60-68. I guess it was dependent on who wrote the spec and who bided on the contract.

    NOT MINE 1968 Plymouth Fury I 4dr 383 4bbl Commando

I know I'm a bit late in reply but curious if it originally came with the "Police" wheels. I notice this car does not have them like the 2 door 68 Fury I.

NOT MINE Blue 1971 Plymouth Fury, Three On The Tree!

12 15 70 date code. Production date of the car is 2 18 71. It makes sense these are the wheels the car was built with. Considering the entire wheel is black inside and out, I'm convinced the car rolled out of the Newark Delaware plant with black wheels. First coat of satin black was applied.

NOT MINE Blue 1971 Plymouth Fury, Three On The Tree!

I don't think they were wrong. I heard it from a few people. I was told by an "old timer" only our marked cars had body color wheels back then. The unmarked had black wheels. I dismounted the 20 year old tires this weekend and the inside is black so apparently that is the original color.

NOT MINE Blue 1971 Plymouth Fury, Three On The Tree!

Yes, I was told painted wheels became an option. Mine is a 1 option car, M85 Front and rear bumper guards. That's it. We had painted wheels on our fleet vehicles as well. I guess we spec'ed it out that way back then (before my time). I wish I had my build sheet. It went with the car when I sold...

NOT MINE Blue 1971 Plymouth Fury, Three On The Tree!

I have determined my car DID NOT come new with body colored wheels. Now my question is do I repaint them gloss black or satin (chassis) black???

NOT MINE 1971 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe 4dr Hardtop - $5,900 - Ontario, New York

Nice. I remember them as a kid. I always wondered why they called them "Gran Coupe". I also remember the local pharmacist had a 71 Gran Coupe 2 door with the Fury II taillights.

NOT MINE Blue 1971 Plymouth Fury, Three On The Tree!

Build date is 2-71. I'm figuring by then Chrysler started with non body colored wheels. I sold the car 20 years ago with LOTS of original paperwork including the build sheet from under the rear seat. Unfortunately none remains. That will tell me the wheel color. I temporarily put on a set of...

BTW. I don't know why the wheels are not body color. I remember they were black when I bought it. Does anyone recall if the cars came with body color wheels when they did not have full wheel covers?

NOT MINE Blue 1971 Plymouth Fury, Three On The Tree!

That car was sold new to the original in Pittsburgh PA and was NEVER a fleet car. My friend Carl bought it from him in 2000. I bought if from Carl in 2001 (I mounted the fire extinguisher). I sold it in 2002 to a dealer who sold it to a guy in Minnesota. That guy sold it to the present owner in...
